My BFF worships my sister

 

My BFF is completely OBSESSED with my sister! She stalked my sister so much on Facebook that my sister had to block her, and my pal is always telling me her opinion on my sister’s social life and friends. It's getting annoying and weird, plus I want my friend back!



Hey girl,

I’m so sorry to hear about your bestie, how awkward! I’m sure your sister is cool but hey, like you said, you want your friend back. Have a serious pow-wow with your pal and tell her to take it down a notch.


Get to the bottom of it

Try finding out what your friend's deal is. Why does she worship your sis? Get her one-on-one to find out the scoop on this situation. Something straightforward, but not too harsh like, "Hey, I know you really respect my sis, why is that?" might be enough to get her talking. Your friend probably feels left out, since she might not have a sis or role model of her own to look up to for advice on hair, clothes, makeup and boys. Feel her out and find out her reasons behind the obsession.


Offer an alternative

Your pal can totally find other peeps to look up to. Some prime examples? Celebs that have a great rep—like Tay Swift—can help her out. Encourage her to start keeping tabs (cough, cough as in NOT seriously stalking) on a celeb she likes by checking entertainment blogs, watching their music videos and tuning in to their TV appearances. She'll get fashion and makeup advice from the pros. Who knows? Maybe she'll snag a whole new look that'll make her confident enough to stop mooching off everyone else's.


Point out her good traits

Everyone's unique—it's just that some of us have more trouble finding out what makes us special. Your friend probably "stalks" your sister because she feels like she isn't cool. But, think about it. WHY are you pals with this girl in the first place? Does she give great advice? Is she an awesome listener? Is she an amazing artist? Compliment her the next time she does something amazing. "OMG! Your self-portrait rocks! Why don't you join the art club?" could do the trick. You're showing her that she's talented, and you're encouraging her to get involved in new stuff.


Mutual understanding

Make sure you and your bestie have a mutual understanding of the sitch. If she STILL seems obsessed with your sis, have you sister sit her down for a talk, or have her write an e-mail about how uncomfy this makes her feel. Most important: Tell your pal that you love and respect her as a friend and don't want to lose her. Good luck!

Mod! So, 2 questions.
1. So, Today I found out that my crush (let's call him J), who I thought liked me back, is going out with my best friend(let's call her L). When I asked her why she didn't tell me for 3 months, L just said that both her and J didn't want to hurt me. My first problem with this was that she obviously told J that I liked him. So my question is, do you think she was doing it with good intention and was it right of her?
2. About a month ago, my friends mom got mad at her and she came back to school the next day and told me that she cut herself. She made me promise not to tell anyone and said that she wasn't ever going to do it again because she's not quote-unquote "emo", but lately she's been wear long sleeves (even though it's like 80 degrees) and acting very PMS-y and sensitive. I can't explain the feeling around her well, but I suspect she's been cutting herself again. What should I do? I don't want to tell an adult because I don't want to lose her as a friend and but I don't want her to hurt herself. ?????????

As for the crush friend drama, i think its unfair that she went out with the guy you like, especially when she knows you like him. But i would just tell her how you feel and ask why she did it. Good luck with her. As for the friend, i would ask her whats going on and ask whether she is still cutting. She told you she wouldnt do it again and if she is, then she lied to you. Required Ok, this has nothing 2 do with this, it is a campaign, a campaign to ban school uniforms! Not only r uniforms unfair, but they're unconstitutional! (did i spell that rite?) The constitution states thate one is intitled to freedom of expression (note that this isn't a quote) and forcing kids 2 wear the same thing goes against that! I had 1 very nice friend. My friend, Katherine, was very nice to me when I first moved to California and befriended me. In the past few months we have grown apart being in all different classes and she found a new friend, Jill. Jill is unsensitve, bratty and annoying but Katherine likes her. Recently they wrote me an email and said that I was nerdy, weird and pathetic. They gave mean examples such as that I like classical music. They also posted this on their Twitter. This really hurt my feelings and I was very upset. Now Katherine is pretending like it never happened but is still BFFs with Jill. I am upset but I miss Kath so much. What should I do?




Hey girl, that's so not cool they did that to you. I think first you should talk your friend, tell her you don't like how she's been treating you because of her new bff. Hopefully she'll understand if she's a true friend. But if not, some friends come and go. Though it's super tough, It might be time to find a new bff if shes not gonna be there for you.

Ok, so my mom just told me that I'm going to my friend Alex's (not her real name) house on Friday to spend the night because my mom and dad are going to my mom's hair place which is like 3 hours away all Friday. My mom didn't even ask if I wanted to go to Alex's house and spend the night! And the thing is... I don't want to go to Alex's house! It's not that I don't like her, but I just don't feel up to it. Plus, I need to get my hair trimmed (I haven't trimmed it in like 5 months!) and my mom lets me get my hair trimmed ONLY at her hair place. I have a Math test on Friday (not really a big deal if I miss it, I can just take it on Monday) and I have to do a tiny part in our school's Stations of the Cross (not really a big deal if I miss that). But Alex already knows that I'm "coming over". I don't want to be rude to Alex, but it's not like I even wanted to go to her house in the first place! My mom said I could either go to Alex's after school or go with my parents all Friday, come home really late, go to some of their stores that I may not like, and get my hair trimmed. What should I do? Thanks!




Hey girl, sounds like it's a decision you have to make. I say make a pro/con list. If you really need to get your hair trimmed, just tell your bud Alex that's why you're going and you guys can hang some other time. No biggie.

Long story short, my crush knows I like him(I told him this), and he "just likes the friendship thing. Usually when friends go out and it doesn't work, the friendship is destroyed." So basically, he's saying that he doesn't want to ruin our awesome friendship. Thing is though, I'm like 95% positive he likes me. Is there any way to convince him that we should at least give it a shot, and even if it doesn't work, we'd still be friends?




Hey girl, that's a toughie, but you can tell him that if you both like each other, it's going to be hard to be friends. Letting another friend know you have feelings for them is kind of a make it or break it thing: you're always going to wonder about that potential, so the best thing you can do is give it a shot for a bit and if it doesn't work out, just stick to being buds who know their boundaries.

THIS is important! okay, now that i have ur attention....i have a question! at my school, when a guy likes a girl, his friends usually try and become friends with that girl to show that she has been "accepted" My crush`s friends have been starting conversations with me by like asking me questions about science but i usually just give them a short anwser then i walk away! is there any way i can try and make my conversations longer without seeming to try to hard because i get nervous around them? Hey girl, I'm so sorry to hear about that. My suggestion is to ask your 'rents if you can pick out a snack and write your name on it so it's yours to eat. I'd go for healthier foods too: ice cream and pizza aren't exactly the best for you. Opt for fruit, which is better for sharing too because it's only one serving dished out: no need to fight over who gets the apple.

MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD ok today my friend shaved her arms, and when i put mine next to hers, mine looksed really hairy, and the hair is pretty dark, but idk if its rlly noticible. ik my mom has this tub of gel to wax with and i was curious soo i tried it on my elbow where theres quite a bit of hair.. but now i have a bald spot on my elbow, and i wish i nvr did it. i didnt ask permission, and i dont want to do the rest of my arm! should i tell my mom? i made sure to clean everything really well and put it back.. i barely used anything, and i cleaned the waxing paper cuz it says u can reuse it. idkw hat to do with a bald spot on my arm for the next 2 weeks!

my crushes brother is a grade older than me, and i'm pretty sure he thinks that one of my friends and me are stalking him. Wink that's probably because everyone at our lunch table is either so boring or perverted that we've been reduced to spending our entire lunches laughing our guts out at him. he is HI-FREAKIN-LARIOUS! he's really big-at least 6 feet, literally- and whenever he eats sandwiches and apples (and probably other stuff, too) in that way that looks like you're attacking them with your mouth. we know he can hear us laughing at him (he usually sits at one end of a lunch table and we sit near the edge closest to him of the lunch table across from him) but we don't care. we got his brother (aka MY CRUSH)to give us his cell number so we can prank call/text him. wow. i think maybe we ARE stalking him...

Everyone thinks he likes eaither me or this girl Diana He and his friend told me that they want to see me and her fight over him. Then he told me she said she was scared that I was gonna come out of no where and attack her while they were talking. So I asked her about it and told her eaht he said. She said she never said that and that she was gonna murder him so we went outside buy he. Wasn't there so we sat down and once he cane out we went up to him and started to yell but one of his friends were like ooo r u guys fighting over him. So me and her were both very mad at him So then I tried to tlk to him about it after class but everyone made a circle around us while we were talking so I said I would talk to him later. I didn't get to talk to him during social studies bc he looked depressed. So u told my friend that he's depressed so ge must like either me or Diana My friend was like no he's not depressed then during class she started freaking out bc my teacher said that AJ the guy. Looked upset. So after class o went to tlk to him and he avoided me and went into the joys bathroom or had ppl block me from him. So we had to tlk through note passing ten dianas friend wrote a note telling Diana only Aj's side of the story. He said that they never said that they want to see me and her fight over him and that he said thatshe said she was scared that I was gonna come out of no where and attack her while they were talking. Which is exactly what I told her. What do I do this is going out of control. I don't want to get the school involved in this. I just want it to end and him nit to b mad at me and Diana not to hate me But it doesn't look like it's gonna end that way. What should I do??

Okay so I am in grade seven and still stuck in elementary school...(there is no middle school its Elementary K-7 and High School 8-12 I wish we had middle school though...) anyways last year I transfered and I still feel like I don't belong! People always say that eyes are my best feature, so I would like them to stand out more. I have bright blue eyes. How would you suggest to wear my eye shadow to make my eyes pop? and what colors would you suggest?

Hey Girl! Use different shades of brown. Try a light brown over the entire lid, then use darker browns from the outer corner of your eye and just blend it into the lighter color. Then use a brown color for the liner. I always use a cream shadow as my liner! xo Lizzie

my parents dont let me walk home from school, not even with friends! it gets really anoying, because i always go out shopping and places with friends, and no parents, but they still dont let me walk home. Frown they say they wont let me walk because on the way 2 school, theres a busy street that i ned to cross, and they dont trust me. you know how at busy streets, you press a button, and across the street theres a sign that says "walk" after you push it? yeah, that street has one of those, but my parents still say no. i really dont understand! thank you so much!

Help!!! In spanish the guy that sits behind me always lifts my desk up when I'm in it. He thinks its funny. I dont really care, I think its funny too and sometimes try to push myself down. So, today he did it again and my teacher yelled "Stop flirting,(name)". Of course the whole class turned to look and started "oooo"-ing. I turned bright red. Like tomato red. And then people started commenting on that. Is he going to think I'm wierd now? And how can I stop my face from turning so red?

Just be nice and try not to get to mad by her response (it can sometimes get annoying, listening to excuses) If she continues to say the stuff after your conversation just try changing the topic....

This is so funny to read because I don't have a big sister and am obsessed (in the non creepy sense) with Taylor Swift. So, yeah now that I think about it, this is really great advice. If anyone needs a good role model just go on youtube and watch some of Tay's interviews. You'll be super amazed at how down to earth she is! It feels like she is your firend (AGAIN in the non stalker sense but in the she really cares about her fans sense). She talks about things she went through when she was younger and it feels great to know that even celebs had tough times in middle school and high school.

Hey Girl! I always do my eye makeup starting from the outer corner. I usually use either a brown or a purple color and fade it into the rest of the lid. Then I use a dark purple cream shadow for eye liner, thick towards the outside then thinning it out and stopping towards the middle of the eye.  xo Lizzie
