I have a BF...that I've never met

I really like this guy I’m going out with…the only problem is we’ve never met! I know he’s not a total creep because he’s friends with my BFF.

Most of my friends think it’s weird that I’ve never even met him. Is it weird? I don’t know what to do now.

Hey there!

I’m so happy to hear you’ve found a great guy. Sure, your relationship may be a bit unconventional, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make it work.

The big date night

Your friends are right that you should meet your BF. To have a good relationship, you need to make sure that you’re comfy hangin’ out in person, too. Next time you talk, ask him if he wants to go to the movies or grab dinner over the weekend.  It can be kinda hard asking a guy on a date, but the good news is—you already know he’s totally into you! Ease the awkwardness the first time around by asking your dude out on a group date. This way you'll be surrounded by friends if you feel weird at any point.

Don’t worry, be happy

If you and your BF have been getting along really well over the phone, IM and texts, chances are, you’ll get along face-to-face, too. It may be a li’l strange at first (especially if you're super-shy!), but just relax and things will ease up. This is the same guy you’ve been talking to all along, so there's no need to worry. Just be yourself and have fun!

But just in case…

If things don’t go quite as you expected after a few dates, then it might be time to reevaluate. Sometimes guys and gals get along really well virtually, but lack some of that special chemistry in person. If that’s the case, just let him know that you love chatting with him, but you’re just not feeling that spark. If you’re sweet about it, I’m sure he’ll understand.

Good luck, girl! I hope things work out for you and your BF!

Mod - I have known this one guy for over 5 years, and for every second of it, I have grown to care more and more deeply about him. I used to be an extremely shy girl with very low self-esteem. But in the past couple of years, I have learned to love who I am. I am just now breaking out of a shell I have been encased in my entire life. I am much more comfortable around this guy than I used to be. The problem is, I already know him so well, just from being around him, listening to and remembering what he says that I still find myself at a loss for words sometimes. My question is, how do I 'get to know' someone that I already know? There just seems to be a wall between us that has always been there, and the fact that I am still not the best conversationalist doesn't help. So how do I tear the wall down?

Hey girl, just make a point to ask questions. Challenge yourself to ask new questions each time to find out something you didn't know before.

xoxo

MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD I don't really want to be friends with girls... I want to keep my 4 bff girl friends but thats it. I want to be friends with guys but guys are not that "accepting" and everyone at my school except for a few seem to think if your JUST FRIENDS with a guy it means u like him. Tips on not being friends with girls? Tips on being friends with guys? And tips on getting people to STOP THINKING THAT IF I'M FRIENDS WITH A GUY THAT I LIKE HIM? THANKS!

Hey girl, I think actions speak way louder than words in this case. Guys are people too so just try hanging out with one and getting to know his interests. Act like a friend and you'll be seen as a friend in his eyes ... and after all, aren't his the only ones that matter?

xoxo

MOD!HELP! so my crush's ex is attacking me whenever she can. she knew i liked him when they went out, but they recently broke up. i backed off when they were going out but now i like him again and shes being super mean but no one else seems to get it. we dont exactly run in the same circles but we r both popular and she is more popular than i am. my crush and her ex is the most popular guy in school but thts not why i like him. when both our friends r late 2 school, she'll make it seem like she's coming 2 talk 2 me and then she'll go to someone else as if im 2 lame for her to be seen with, or she'll diss me and everyone thinks shes kidding. now she is putting her friends against me like i did something wrong! on facebook she is attacking me! everyone thinks she is super nice and tht she's not capable of hurting my feelings. i dont no wat to do and talking to her is so not an option. help!

Hey girl,
I'm sorry to hear about the tough sitch.  If you don't feel you can confront her about it, then the best thing you can do is to just stay above the drama.  Be polite to her at school, and don't spread any gossip about her - it will only make things worse.  If the sitch gets worse, definitely think about talking to a counselor or adult you trust.  They can help you figure out the best way to handle the problem.  Best of luck! xoxo
