Power Nap

 
When you’re stressed out, being tired just makes the problem worse. Or you can even get really irritable and stressed when you’re lacking Zzzs. The next time ya get a wee bit cranky, take a 20-minute power nap to reboot. You’ll wake up refreshed and have the energy boost you need to tackle all your to-dos.

Im really obbsessed with junk food im gaining like 5000 cals a day is that bad im 12 and i weigh about 150 pounds people make fun of me.

Hey girlie, You might want to cut back on the junk food. It's okay to eat every once in a while, but all the time is really unhealthy! Try eating something healthy, like a piece of fruit, every time you crave junk food. Pretty soon you won't crave the bad stuff anymore!

I have trouble sleeping during the day so i can't take naps but when i am REALLY tired i want to take naps but it doesn't work! i put the curtains down and turn off the lights. any suggestions???

 

Hey lucky you, I am the queen of naps!  Haha but seriously, I'm like a pro.  Try finding the darkest room in your house.  Sometimes I go to the couch in my basement.  Also, you can get a sleep mask to put over your eyes.  VS Pink has really cute soft ones.

i have to go to my dads ever other weekend. if a emergency comes up, and i can't be there like usual, he gets angry, and gives me the cold shoulder. then, a day or so later, he wants to buy me things, and he's apologizing and he's really happy and hunky-dory. i never know what kind of mood he'll be in. sometimes after he's been mad at me, i come home with migraines. i feel really guilty when this stuff happens...my mom is going to see if the judge will allow me to choose when i go to his house (i'm 13) so it will be My choice. what should i do?? (please hide or delete this when you write back)

Hey girl, try to talk to your dad about how you feel. He probably just gets sad when he can't see you, and he may begin to think you don't want to spend time with him. Try to have a conversation with him about these things, so you both can feel better the next time you have to unexpectedly cancel. Communicating will definitely help with this situation. Good luck!

Hey girl, it's really up to you whether you want to pierce your ears again or not. To keep infections away clean them regularly and ask the person who pierces them what else you can do. Good luck!

Can you get thin strapped sports bras? and if so, where? I was just wondering, because mine are so thick that sometimes they are wider then my tanktop straps!

Hey girl, unfortunately I think sport bras are just made like that in general. You can always check a sports store like Nike or Dick's Sporting Goods though to see if any companies make sports bras with thinner straps.

MOD I am thirteen years old and have sleeping issues. It can take me up to 3 hours to fall asleep at night, and even when I have been sleeping for like 10 hours I am still tired. I am always tired on school days which I get but even on the weekends I am tired.It's annoying becuase just today I woke up like 4 hours aago and I am so tired I am thinking about going back to sleep. Please help me

I tryy to take 'power naps' but I end up sleeping for 2-4 hrs. A few years ago I never took a nap unless Iwas sick now I do like everyday!!!

MOD MOD MOD****** I can never fall asleep at night. I go too bed around 9:30-10:00pm and i can never fall asleep until around 12. and advice????

 

Hey chica! There's nothing worse than staring at your ceiling when you should be snoozing. But, there are a few things you can do to help yourself get a better night's sleep. First off, begin unwinding and getting ready for bed at least an hour before you plan to hit the hay. This will give both your body and mind time to shutdown and prepare for sleep. Turn off the TV, log off of your computer and remove all noisy distractions. Put on your PJ's, go through your nightly routine, then unwind by reading your favorite book or magazine in bed. Make sure that your alarm clock is facing opposite from you, so that you're not forced to stare at the neon glare. Still not feeling sleepy? Try taking a warm bubble bath right before bed. You'll be sleeping like a baby in no time.

a tradition in our family is to order out chinese food and watch reruns of our favorite tv show (24!) every friday night. im trying to eat healthier though and i know some of the stuff in chinese food is really salty and not great for you. ive asked my mom about changing the tradition or if she could make me something else or if i could make myself something else for dinner that night, but she just wont give so im stuck eating chinese food, not that i dont love it! my question is what can i order that will be a healthy option for me? thx in advance!




Well its ok to treat yourself every once in a while. But also if you order vegetables that will be better for you. Also you can see if the menu offers healthy options. Good luck! xoxo kerra

ok if you are tring to starve yourself to loes wieght, here is my tip for you. if you want to loes weight eat a healthy breakfast, this gives you energy to be active and if you arn't ative, you can't loes weight. if you think you have no time, bored of the same foods or just don't feel like eating, pack a healthy snack like cheese or carrot sticks to eat between classes. who said you had to have cereal? you just need 3 of the 5 food groups to have a healthy breakfast!

I take naps everyday after school. I feel so refreshed and I feel more alert, it's easier to do homework after. But my naps are way more than 20 minutes, more like 3 or 4 hours lol. I have a weird sleep schedule...

MOD... I heard that anti perspirant deodorant are bad for you... do you know any brands that don't have it? because i looked in a couple of stores, and all of the women brands have anti perspirant in them




Hey girl, I have heard that before because of the aluminum it can contain. Apparently there is a deodorant called "Crystal" (heres the url: http://www.thecrystal.com/) which doesn't contain the aluminum.

MOD MOD MOD ive heard that if you sleep too much then ur even more sleepy..is this true? cuz sometimes on the weekends(when its been a very long week) i can sleep over 15 hours and when i wake up i feel like going back to bed..and my body aches too..its so weird..wat do u think?? thnx!

 

Hey chica, yes, it's true that if you get too much sleep then you'll still be tired. Unless you're sick, 15 hours is wayyyy too much! 7-9 hours is an idea amount of sleep for your body, and for your mind.

my mom is tall,and my dad is normal,,all my uncles and aunts are tall ,but i am not!
last year i was taller than the most of my friends but now the most r taller than me ,,my mom says that sleeping help u grow more -and sports as well-,but anyway i take a 1 hour nap everyday ,,and it doesn't seem like it is working ??y ??
