Well the kid did not know it was me becuz he said sorry!! but now I no I'm fat! But now I need to loose weight so I can actually go to a pool party with out feeling self consious !!!! Hey chickadee! This guy sounds like a total, complete jerk! Do NOT listen to what he says. People like that are just that... mean. If you are healthy, then there's no need to worry about losing weight. And if you want to lose weight, I would consult with your doc first, to see if you even need to.

Hey girlie, it probably won't. Try getting a black one piece (it always makes you look slimmer) or find one with a lot of detail that might distract from your stomach.

Girl, I am in exactly the same situation!  Except I'm even shorter!  Boy shorts would be flattering for your thighs, and vertical stripes or vertically-oriented patterns will make your body look longer.  Target has awesome suits, so check there, along with your other fave stores!

Hey again,

If you aren't comfortable with the idea of shaving it, then trimming it short is a great option.  Try it and see how it makes you feel!  It'll always grow back if you don't like it.  And everyone's different {because our hair grows back at different rates}, but I'd say you could expect to shave probably every 3 days or so.

1 I REALLY want to shave my legs and just can't find the right words or time to bring it up. The thing is I think she would let me.
2 How old were you when you shaved and why?
3 What exactly do you need the first time?

 

1. There's no "right" time to bring it up, so try asking one day when you're going off to take a shower.  Just mention it off-hand, like "Oh, by the way, my hair on my legs has been getting kind of annoying lately.  Would you mind if I shaved it off?"  If you treat it casually and maturely, there's no reason for anyone to say no Smile

 

2. I actually can't remember when I first shaved - probably when I was 11 or 12.  I shaved because I have dark hair and it was becoming really noticeable!


 

3. You need a razor {make sure it's new and no one else has used it!} and shave gel or soap.  You could also grab a body lotion too, to moisturize and soothe the skin afterwards!

Hey girlie,

If it makes you self-conscious, try trimming the hair to make it less noticeable.  If you really want to get rid of it, try trimming it down so it's short, then lather up the edge with shave gel and shave away the parts that are sticking out.  You'll have to keep up with the shaving, but you won't have to worry about it anymore!

Hey babe,

This will be a great lesson for you - how to resist temptation when your parents aren't there to help you and, worse, when everyone around you is pigging out!  The best thing to do is to limit yourself.  Say that you'll only let yourself have TWO snacks in addition to your meals {or something like that, depending on what's practical for your diet}.  Then, stick to it.  That will make you "budget" your junk food and help you think twice before you munch.

mod, I have rather large thighs. I play basketball a ton and still my thighs are big how do I slim them down??

 

Hey girl, if you play a sport especially one that require leg strength then this is a risk you run. I ran track and field and I have the same issue my thighs were on the larger side because I was really muscular. But in general good thigh exercises are lunges and squats.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR FINALLY SHOWING SOMETHING MODEST!!! my parents/school/religion all don't allow me to show my belly or too much of my boobs and u r my fave magazine!!!!2 probs: 1)i have a suit that is kinda like the first one and the halter makes the breasts droop and look all gross. I'm always pulling it up! How do you wear a suit like that? 2)My eyebrows inda used to go together in the middle like a unibrow but I couldn't tweeze because they hurt too much and it took too long and waxing was too expensive. So when the hairs in the middle got darkish, I hurriedly shaved just where they met. I know shaving my eybrows is unusual and possibly dangerous, but they're actually growng back more slowly than with tweezing! I wonder what's the harm and also should I tell someone? THnx!! (y) peace!

 

Hey girl, Hmm, that is a tough one.  I would make sure that you got the right size - if it's too big, then it will def droop.  Also make sure you tie the top tight - ask a bud to do it for you so it's secure! 

 

I wasn't sure about the brow-shaving at first, but I did a quick search and found this article:  http://www.girlslife.com/post/2008/05/08/eyerazingtrauma.aspx.  Apparently, it's not the way to go.  If you still want to change your brows, I would talk to an adult about what's best.  xoxo

um this is really embarresing but when i shave down there, i dont use shaving cream or anything just an electric razor. and i never get irritated! and i shave it because its itchy when its there not when its gone. is that ok?




That's totally fine!  Feel lucky that your down-there area isn't super-sensitive and hard to care of.  Most girls usually just have really sensitive skin around their bikini line.

I think the bottom two swimsuits could be really cute.  You could also take your mom to a store or website that sells bathing suits, and try to explain to her why you like some of your faves- you just might convince her to buy a two piece for you.  Also, swimsuits that have ruffles up top could look really cute on you.

Hey babe! Follow your heart. If you know it's going to bother you by having words unsaid, then you should tell him how you feel. Be prepared for rejection, and be prepared for a mutual connection.   As long as you know the possible consequences from telling him, you'll be fine!  If he doesn't feel the same way, it will be okay because you'll have all of summer to steer clear if things seem awkward with him. And if he does feel the same way, you'll have fun things to look forward to for the summer! (summer meet-ups with your crush! )

hey babe! Maybe you can make a compromise with your mom and get a well-lined bikini top instead. Let your mom know it's embarrassing when you feel that the top is so thin that you can practically see through it.  Ask her for her reasoning behind not allowing you to wear the pads, and let her know how much it would mean to you if she changed her mind.

So Im going to a graduation party this weekend, and I was planning on wearing a tanktop. The only problem is that after I shave, I get red bumps on under my arms. Its really embarrassing, and noticeable. Is there anyway I can make them go away as fast as possible? Thanks!




Hey girl! Those red bumps you are getting after you shave is called razor burn.  It can come either using a razor that's old, or even shaving on dry skin.  Next time you shave under your arms, make sure you have lots of water and soap.  Razor burn usually goes away within a few days, so you should be ready to go in time for your party! Have fun!!

If your mom is against a v-neck, maybe try a simple t-shirt! A simple t-shirt can be made fun and funky if it has a cool graphic, some ruffles, or even some pattern! OR maybe switch it up, and rock a sundress.  You can wear something your mom likes, while still looking fashionable! Ask your friends, and see what they plan on wearing!

For lessons, a one-piece bathing suit made for serious swimming would probably be best, such as Speedo brand bathing suits.  Wear what you think is best today, and ask your instructor what they would like you to wear for the remainder of the lessons.

So today was our last day of school. I wanted to get my crush to sign my yearbook, but I chickened out, even though he was walking right infront of me. Now I am really mad at myself for not doing it because I promised that I would. I am also really sad, cause I probably won't be able to see him at all during the summer... okay, so i have a belly. i am super active. i play basketball on average about 16 hours a week during the summer. and 6-8 hours during the school year. but i still have a stomach. its weird cuz it doesn't stick out very far when i'm standing up. it actually looks like i have abs! but when i sit down it looks like i'm super overweight. summers coming and all my friends are super skinny and wear bikinis really well. but i cant! whats a good way to get rid of the stomach and fast?!?! thanks!!!

Eczema can be caused by a lot of different things, all of which have different ways of dealing with.  Make sure to drink a lot of water so that your skin stays hydrated and talk to your doctor about your specific case.

If he seems to be interested, see if he might want to hang out sometime. Or, if he doesn't know the area well, you could offer to show him around to some local places in your area.

for 12 year old middle school students because i really don't like the summer camp i'm going to and i really need answers quick!




 Unfortunately, I do not know of any specific camps in Georgia.  But I'm sure there are easy ways to find a great camp.  Are you looking for a day camp or sleepaway camp?  Either way, I would look at local newspapers and magazines for advertisements, check the internet, and ask your friends if they know what camps around you are supposed to be fun!

It's okay to shave your bikini line, just be VERY careful!  Make sure to use a sharp blade (you will actually have less of a chance of cutting yourself) and a lot of shaving cream.  Some people say you shouldn't shave down there because the skin is very sensitive and may become irritated, but there are ways to fix that!  There are tips in this article.

Hey girl, I'd try using products geared towards curly/wavy hair that will tame your curls. Blow drying your hair with a round brush also helps keep it tame too.

Hey girl, I'd just stick to eating a balanced diet and exercising (try some cardio like swimming or running a couple times a week). As for tucking your shirt in, I totally do it all the time and I don't have hips. I think it'd look fine on you though: it just makes you look more polished.

Hey girl, you could def try a different color cami (nice and light for summer) with it or a light cardi. The way to make that top work in different ways is to try different bottoms (jeans vs. a skirt) and accessories. Try bringing out a different color in the top each time you wear it.

Hi! I am going to target in a little while and I need a new face wash or something like that to keep my acne away. I was wondering what brand you think works best and product. I have sorta oily skin. I have a few problem areas that seems like they NEVER go away ;{ or if they do it's very slowly. Right now I'm using Clinique..it doesn't really work that well but has worked better than the other products I have used. Also I've used Clearasil Ultra and that dries out my skin. I've tried a moisturizer but that sorta burns (sometimes) Also sometimes I get a single pimple not with the rest of them. Btw all of the acne is on my face. Thank you sooo much!




Hey girl, instead of trying a new product maybe it's time to see your doctor about this problem. They can sometimes put you on over the counter treatments that may work much better than anything you can buy at Target or any other store. Good luck. =]

Hey girl, A) Highlights are technically not the best for your hair because you are bleaching your hair, which is extracting the color. B) Thinning your hair out is not bad for it, because it is like getting your hair cut and the parts that are getting thinned out will grow back. C) Have some layers put into it, maybe some highlights, and either curl it and put it in a half ponytail or straighten it and leave it down. D) I think that'd look good. Go for it. =]

This guy who likes me, (I think) always said Olive Juice to me. I had no idea what it meant and I just laughed cause I thought it was funny. He told me today it means "I love you". I don't think he loves me, since we're not even going out. He said he was just kidding, but I am not so sure. He said what it means and he sorta looked embarrassed. Do you really think he loves me?

He probably likes you!! Love is a strong word, I think he was just being silly when he said "olive juice." If you like him say "elephant shoes" back! it's the same silly way of saying you like someone. Try just mouthing the words in the mirror, it looks like you're saying "i love you" teehee!

I am really hurting right now because of a guy I like. He stood me up Friday night and when we came in to school today he was REALLY sorry. Like, he would not stop saying sorry. He says he didn't show because he got hurt. I really don't believe it, and I'm sure he's lying to my face. I don't know what to do! Somehow I still like this guy! But school ends next week and I want to make things right. I am SO CONFUSED!

Let him know that you were disappointed that you two couldn't hang out, and ask him what really happened. If he sticks to his story about getting hurt, then its up to you to decide "do i stay with someone i can't trust or do i believe what he says?" then go from there.

I like these swimsuits but i don't like one-peices... they dont look good on me because i am REALLY skinny so i just looks bad.. i like 2 peices!!! I got a really cool one by OP at wal-mart. Dont be afraid to mix and match different brands. If u find a top u like but i u dont like the bottoms that go with it
