I have problems dealing with teachers every school year. Sometimes I really like one or two of my teachers, and I'm nice to them and do really well in their classes. But if I can't stand a teacher, I get an attitude with them and talk all the time during their classes.
I feel like I can't control myself sometimes and it's really messing with my grades. It seems like some teachers start out the year hating me, and there is no way I can make it better. I'm going into high school next year and I don't want to keep doing this. How can I get teachers to like me more?
Hey girly, everyone has issues with a teacher at some point, but you’re already taking steps to making it better. No one says you have to like all of your teachers all of the time. But you do have to respect them and they, in turn, will respect you too.

It’s not just a song; it’s a way of life. Catching an attitude with your teachers and talking during their classes is a guaranteed way to not get them to like you. Think about it. Would you like someone who completely ignored you while you were talking? It’s not a good feeling and teachers are human, too.
Make a change
It’s never too late to become a better student. There are some small actions that can make a huge difference in how your teacher feels about you. Probably the easiest thing to do is show up on time to class (teachers love that!). It shows that you’re serious about learning and you respect their time. The next time you walk into a class, make a vow to fully listen to your teacher and pay attention—that means no texting or joking around. And always turn your assignments in on time. Your teachers will notice a difference and you’ll feel better about yourself.
Go the extra mile
You can’t make someone like you—friends, crushes and teachers, too. If your teacher appears to be mean, he may just be having a bad day or he could be generally unfriendly. If you’re doing everything right and your teacher still doesn’t like you, don’t take it personally. He’s the one with the problem, not you. Continue to be a fabulous student, be polite and do your work and every teacher will love you. Good luck, hon!
