I'm really worried about my mom!

Check these out, too...

  • 7 things to say (and do) to keep your parents from worrying about you
  • What to do when your parents are worried about something big
  • My dad is sexually abusing me. How can I tell my mom?
Recently my mom started working again after seven years of staying home. It's great she has a job but I'm also kind of worried for her, too.

Her job really stresses her out and she's working all the time (and I mean, all the time). She leaves at 8 am every morning and sometimes doesn't come home until 9:00. But even when she's home, she's still working and never goes to sleep before 2:00. She'll wake up in the middle of the night and can't sleep because she's so stressed. Even her weekends are filled with work.

I never get to just sit down and talk to her. More Importantly, I'm really worried that it could be affecting her mental and physical health. Help!

Hey girly! Sorry to hear you’re a li’l worried about your mom. My BF’s mom just started working full time again, and I know it can be a big adjustment (for her and YOU!). But, there are a few things you can do that will def help ease the sitch.

Take a walk in her shoes

A mom’s #1 job is being a good mother, so I’m sure she had no problem not working so she could be around while you grew up. Work can be way stressful, no doubt about it, but now that you’re older and ya don’t need her 24/7, she may feel like she’d be better off working during the day. I know that’s at least how my mom (a stay at home momma herself) feels. Understanding why she does want to work again is important.

One-on-one

The best way to let your mom know you’re worried is to talk to her about it. The next time it’s just you two, sit down for a chat. Explain that you miss her and you feel like you don’t get to talk to her enough anymore. Let her know that you understand why she wants to go to work, but you also worry because she’s working too much. She needs to balance work and play!

Mommy’s little helper

With all the added stress, your mom’s going to be pretty tired when she gets home from a long day at the office. Make sure to help around the house by doing your chores (and even hers!), lending a hand with dinner or cleanup or offering to run errands. This will help to ease the heavy burden she’ll be carrying. And make sure to help her relax too! Plan a little down time during the evening to do something she likes or to just talk.

Good luck!

My mom is always critizing me. One day it's about my hair the next day it's about how to hit a volleyball and the next day she's telling me I'm to fat or wearing the wrong clothes. She treats me like a barbie doll. What should I do?

My mom is for sure pregnant, and i keep waiting for her to sit me down and tell me officially and even though she she sits right in front of me and discusses about "the baby" to my dad,she wont confront me face to face about it.what should i do?

I think you should confront her! If she talks about it in front of you, then you should just bring it up and get an answer. Good luck! xoxo kerra

My older sister is a total jerk to me. She tells me that she hates talking to me, I'm annoying, and whenever i ask her something, she immediately tells me no without even listening to me. I act nice to her and do her favors, but she dosent respect me or all the nice things I do for her. I am done with her actions, anger, and plain rudeness. How can I deal with her? Talking to her is not an option.
~Ali

Sometimes kids go through an age where theyre rude and dont want anything to do with siblings. All you can do is give her space and hope she matures soon. The same thing happened with my brother and now after some time hes much better. Good luck! xoxo kerra

I just found out today that my cousin was arrested because she was found in a car with a boy and they had heroin. My cousin had a needle with her as well. She is pregnant(due in october). How could this affect her and her baby?

Hey girlie, drugs can cause nerve damage, brain damage, lung damage, undeveloped organs and mental retardation for the child not to mention a miscarriage
