How have all you girlies been this summer? I’ve been running tons, but took a day off this week to hit the weights with one of my fave trainers, Larysa DiDio (check out our review of her DVD here).

Not only is Larysa sweet and encouraging (and, oh yeah, trains Supergirl Nastia Liukin), but she spilled some awesome shape-up tips with me.

Larysa likes to alternate exercises between different body parts. So if you do squats, the next move should be push-ups (or something that works a part of your bod that’s not your legs). That way, you get a mini recovery during your sweat sesh. You’ll still do 3 sets of each move, it’ll just be broken up. It keeps it wayy more interesting. Perfect!

Her secret weapon for flat abs? Pilates-inspired moves, which are totally tough-but-amazing. Check out these ideas for inspiration.

Girls MUST strength train. Not only will you tone up faster, you’ll prevent osteoporosis later in life (amongst a million other reasons). Grab your BFF and get buff together—it’ll be a ton of fun—promise.

I would tone up but my house doesnt have any thing to tone up with. I would go to the gym but they dont let anyone under 16 use the equipment. My parents are letting me do kick boxing so i dont think they would be enthusiastic about have to buy new equipment just for me. Is there anything I can do to tone up?




Kick boxing is a GREAT workout! When you're at the gym with your coach, maybe squeeze in some extra exercises... Whether that's some lunges, crunches, or maybe even lifting some weights! Or, when school starts back up, maybe you could join a sports team so you can get fit fast!

Hey ladies! ask me advice on anything and everything! (attitude, boys, body, fashion, family, friends, make-up, periods, hair, skin, food, work-outs/staying fit, BACK TO SCHOOL...and those things that are just plain tricky!) I dont mind at all if you ask multiple questions, and i wont judge you by the questions you ask! I ask plenty of "dumb" questions too, and i totally get what you are going through! I will also get back to you ASAP- I get one GL more than 2 times a day (Woo-Hoo for fast and accurate answers!)

I had a good summer for exercising. I was able to exercise with both my bf amd my mom, not at the same time. It was so much fun doing it with both of them. I did cardio with my mom and light weights with my bf. Its kind of hot working out with your bf and getting all sweaty with him.

I do a summer thingy called strength and conditioning its sooo much fun! i have my buds with me and an awesome coach tooo!!!!!! its pretty tuff but i got into shape pretty fast and i didnt even realize it!!!! we do weight lifting and running iand i love it sooo much!
