Fiber and protein from nutritious ingredients in a handy crispy bar -- and without corn syrup!

Ingredients: Makes 12 bars
 
2 quarts popped popcorn
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped dried apricots
1/2 cup sweetened dried cranberries
1/2 cup roasted soy nuts (or shelled sunflower seeds)
3 tablespoons margarine
2/3 cup honey
1/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

2. Line a 13x9-inch pan with foil and spray lightly with cooking spray; set aside. Place popcorn, almonds, coconut, apricots, cranberries and soy nuts in a large bowl; set aside. In a small saucepan, heat butter, honey, brown sugar, vanilla and salt over medium heat.

3. Stir to blend and bring to a boil. Boil 2 minutes, stirring constantly; pour over popcorn mixture.

4. Stir to blend all ingredients and pour into foil-lined pan.

5. With damp hands, press mixture lightly and evenly into pan.

6. Bake 30 minutes or until lightly browned.

7. Cool in pan at least 3 hours before cutting into rectangles to serve.

8. Wrap individually in plastic wrap and store in an airtight container up to 2 weeks.

so i want to get in shape by new years, and my doctor says i need to lose 10 pounds to be in my healthy weight zone (i am overweight currently). I'm suuuuuuuuuuper swamped with finals and Christmas prep and extra curriculars, can you reccomend anything??

Tried the recipe! Very Yummy! All good except when it was time to cut them into bars, the mixture crumbled. So I put into a large bag and called it clustery-trail mix! The apricots were a sweet touch Smile

Hey bluebird11, well think about what type of party it is. It is a small casual gathering or more formal? Pick some of your gave party pieces from your closet and mix and match them. If it's casual, go for skinny jeans a cute top, a leather jacket or blazer, jewelry, and flats. If it's a little more dressy gor for a nice dress, low heels and tights. Hope this helps! Xoxo

That sounds like a really cool idea! Here's a recipe for gingerbread cookies from GL: http://www.girlslife.com/post/2010/11/09/bake-a-BF-gingerbread-cookies.aspx. I assume that you would be able to make sheets of gingerbread (or whatever you need to make the golf course) instead of cutting out the boy shapes. Good luck!

Hey girl. I was a picky eater a few years ago too! If you are anything like me, you probably said you didn't like certain foods without ever trying them. This season, actually put in the effort to try foods that you have convinced yourself you don't like. Trust me, there will be something that find you actually do enjoy! Also, try to find ways you can "sneak" healthy foods into better tasting ones. For example, mix your broccoli in with your mashed potatoes-you can barely taste it! All of the food gets mixed together in your stomach anyway-why not mix it together on your plate! Ok, well I wanna eat healthy but here is one weird thing... I absolutly hate fruit. Besides apples and grapes. But other than that I hate it. What could I do in place of these berries or fruit that could work?




hey! well green tea is a good source of antioxidants like blueberries, also if you like fruit juices you can get some of the same nutritional value from them (as long as they're not loaded with sugar ) otherwise you should be find sticking to apples and grapes Smile

Here's a healthey recipe sort of like pizza you can try.

Ingrediants
*1 slice whole grain bread
*pizza sauce make sure it's healthy
*shredded cheese, fat free if available,
*meat
*vegetables
*fresh fruit is optional


how to make it

1. take your bread and pour pizza sauce on it (you can subbstite homemade salsa for pizza sauce, for a different twist,

2. add meat (try grilled chicken or something lean. try not to use lunch meat) and add veggies and fruits ex, tomatoes pinapple broccoli cauliflower, peppers, anything eles canned foods tend to have a lot of fat and sugar

Hey girlie, when you want to eat because you're bored, just find something else to do. Get away from the kitchen so that the temptation isn't there. For dessert you can have something like strawberries or bananas with a little bit of chocolate or caramel to dip them in. You can also treat yourself to a few cookies.

MODMODMOD Does DermaDoctor really work? I have KP and I have been trying for 3 years to find a way to get rid of the bumps. I looked thru all the comments on "Ew! I have little bumps on my arms" and so many people said "Try DermaDoctor it really works!" "I'm going shopping soon, and if it really works I'll try to stop by the Sephora and buy some of that stuff.

 

Hey girl, I'm not totally sure, since I haven't used the product myself.  It looks like they sell an exfoliator and a lotion (with glycolic acid, as the article recommends).  It just depends on if it's worth a shot to you!

How do i get rid of scars? I have a couple on my leg, but i hate them. I can't do laser treatment, I'm 11. Does Vitamin E cream really work? I got these scars all less than a year ago. No I don't cut myself. I trip on a daily basis. Also how can I keep bugs from biting me in my sleep? When I go to sleep, the annoying monsters start to bite me, also leaving scars if I scratch them. I used bruise cream on my bruises and they worked, but I want to know if scar cream works.

 

Hey! Unfortunately, creams aren't super effective. You can try them if you want, but they usually don't show great improvement. The best way to get rid of scars is to give it time. I know they're frustrating, but they may not be as bad as you think they are! Smile

How do i ask my mom for deodorant? I noticed that sometimes after it's too hot or after i work out that i stink. I asked for a bra + shaving and she said yes to both of those. So... help? Also does Aerie sell sports bras w/ padding? I wear a VS Pink yoga bra (my boobs aren't big, but they show thru shirts.) And what would my bra size be? I don't think I'd fit into a regular padded bra (underneath my chest= 29-ish, my actual chest=30-ish.) We were at VS and I tried on a sports bra, the cups were fine but underneath was so so so tight. So help me about boobs and stink.




Just ask hon! Its not rocket science! Shes gonna understand that you need it. As for your size, take a tape measurer and measure right under your bust. Thats your band size. I think youre an a so youre size is gonna be the bandsize then A. Good luck! xoxo kerra

For some reason, my boobs hurt when I hit them by accident. Whats up with dat?

 

Hey girl, boobs are a more sensitive part of our bodies. If too much pressure hits or bumps them they become slightly sore. Try taking Tylenol, and the pain should go away within the next day.
