Wanna host a party that’s out of this world? Take some initiative and have you and your friends look up a little bit about your backgrounds, then host a ballin’ multi-cultural dinner party. Everyone can bring a dish from a different spot around the world.
Don’t know too much about your family history? No worries! Pick a place you’d like to learn more about and bring a dish from there. Divide up the dishes (appetizer, dessert, main course, etc.). You don’t want people to show up with 5 entrees and nothing else. Here are some ideas to get you started!
Appetizer: Whip up a Mexican influenced seven-layer dip. It’s really easy, and is muy delicioso.
What You’ll Need:
8 oz. package of cream cheese
1 can of Hormel chili (with or without beans)
8 oz. bag of Mexican blend shredded cheese
8 oz jar of guacamole (optional)
Toppings of your choice: Olives, jalapenos or chili peppers
9-inch pie plate
1 bag of your fave nacho chips
What You’ll Do:
Use guacamole as your bottom layer (this recipe works with or without). Smooth cream cheese over pie plate. Smooth chili over cream cheese. Distribute shredded cheese evenly over top. Add toppings of your choice . Bake in oven on 350 'til cheese is melted. Serve with nacho chips

Main Course: Soba noodles. They’re a healthy alternative to other entrées, and like a lot of Japanese food, beautiful and filling as well. CLICK HERE for how to make.
Tea and Dessert: What’s better than tea and cookies, natch? Like these ginger snaps with your favorite orange tea!
What You'll Need: Makes 5 dozen
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cloves
Pinch of salt
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
3/4 cup canola oil
1 large egg
Sugar for rolling
What You'll Do:
Whisk together the flour, baking soda, spices and salt in a medium bowl. In another bowl, combine together the brown sugar, molasses, canola oil, and egg until smooth. Mix the flour mixture into the brown mixture, stirring until dough comes together. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 20 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line baking sheets with parchment paper. Scoop up bits of dough by the heaping teaspoonful and roll into balls between your palms, about the size of a quarter. Roll the balls in sugar and place on the baking sheets 2 inches apart. Bake 8 minutes–if you like crispy gingersnaps, try 9-10 minutes.
Cookies will be very soft but will firm up. Leave on the baking sheet several minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
