The whole energy is easy when u can laugh about a negattive thing that happend to you... for example: Me and my friends were playing by a bridged that had flooded over...we were standing over on the side ov the bridge where the current wasnt that strong... there was not rail on this bridge and my friend was standing o the edge.... she fell in and got sucked through a culvert... she came up on the other side and is still alive to this day.... It was very tragic and made me sad whenever i thought about it....but the other day at lunch, my other friend wanted to hear the whole story from my friend that fell in..... my friend that told the story made it really funny, so whenever that moment comes into my head, it makes me laugh because of the story.... btw..... my friend is fine, she can laugh about it now and everything....

my soccer coach said that im already a really good playe but i would be even better if i strengthened my core, what are some good exercises to work those areas? i also want to lose some weight around my abs and thighs, any ideas?

I cant ever stick to healthy foods or to my workout! Usually when im having a bad day (PMS, family problems)I go nuts on icecream and cookies. And with my workouts I just dont do them....My mp3's broken so theey arent as much fun anymore. How do I stick to my routine? I want to lose some baby fat in my tummy and thighs? Any workouts for that? Please dont rush through your answer. Thank you!

Hey girl, honestly, cardio is really the best way. Set a goal for the week. Add exercise into your schedule and treat it like homework. Limit yourself and distance yourself from junk food or try replacing it with healthier options, i.e. frozen yogurt for ice cream, etc.

... school starts tomorrow but i was wondering if u could give me some advice on how to lose those last 4 stubborn lbs. i already looked at the GL workouts and stuff but i'm gonna be busy this year. i am doing soccer and volleyball and karate in a month or two. think that'll help me lose those 4 lbs or..... um.... well i just don;t know what else to do other than sports and our eliptical machine so how can i lose those last lbs by the middle/end of september?..... i reallly wanna be thin and to have come this far i WILL NOT give up!!!!!! help please!!!!! thanks!!!!!! =D




Hey girlie,

As long as you make good choices about your food and commit to eating balanced meals, plus get exercise regularly, you should be fine! Remember though that introducing sports training into your routine might cause you to build muscle - and, since muscle weighs more than fat, you could actually gain a pound or two. Don't let that scare you! You're healthy and if you feel great about your body, the number doesn't matter. Just stay on track with working out and eating right... you'll be good!

I am very torn between a few choices. I wanna have something to do after school this year, but my school doesn't offer sports. My mom got us a free pass to the local gym, but I don't know if it's for me and feel like I should play a team sport like "normal" kids. I also wanted to take hockey lessons at a nearby skating rink, but think my mom would only let me pick one out of that and a gym membership. i can go to the gym every day but its also really expensive, and i hate wasting my parents money cuz i already got to a private school. And the hockey lessons are only one day a week i think... another choice is taking pre- swim team classes which seems really fun and you dont have to be a gym member to do it at the gym. It also costs less. Im just really stressed! what should i do? Or which would be better for me to do? P.S. I actually love playing basketball, its my fave sport, but i cant find any teams to join which is why i am looking for something else active. Thanks!!

 

Hey girlie, pick what you want to do the most. It sounds like you'd rather do a sport than the gym so are you more interested in hockey or swimming?

i eat way to much. i eat when im bored, happy, sad, angry anytime. and i over stack my plate at meals, like i'll be full after a few bites but i'll just keep eatting..cause it tastes good Foot i am actually very skiny but i really want to stop eatting for no reason.

Hey girl, I'd try limiting what you eat and changing what you eat. Healthy foods like fruits are more filling and healthier for you. When you want a snack, reach for an apple, not chips.

1] How do you do the hair in the pic?
2] What's some cool and LITE makeup ideas for a dark blonde/light brown haired girl with darker brown eyes? Also what can I do to conceal my acne [mostly blackheads] while it gets better?

1. Hey girl, I'm not completely sure how to do that kind of hair but it looks like a variation on a french braid, where you add in hair as you braid. Start with a little braid and then keep adding in more. 2. Maybe you could get a pastel blue eyeshadow or a light purple, along with some brown eyeliner and brownish-black mascara. To conceal your acne, you could use a non-comedogenic (won't clog pores) foundation, or a concealer stick (as long as it's non-comedogenic). You could also see a dermatologist to see what you can do to help with your acne. 3. For a flat stomach, the best thing you can do is crunches. In addition to cardio workouts, crunches are a good way to work on your abs. It will take a while before you see results, though. Hey girl, yeah, a strength workout involves weights. It could be lifting regular dumbbell weights, or if you're doing a leg strength workout or something that works another part of your body like your abs at the gym, it could be using weight machines.

It is just so hard! I am so fat. I mean, there are skinny girls that think they are fat, but they aren't, like ALL of those girls in those picutres. They're not fat. They're fit! And I exercise to the point of where I'm light headed and I hardly eat! Seriously, I skip breakfast and dinner. I normally have a peanut butter sandwhich, banana, and celery. And I've been eating and exercising like this for maybe a month, and I've only lost five pounds. What's wrong with me???

 

Hey girl, don't feel bad about yourself! One of your problems may be that you are eating practically nothing. It is VERY unhealthy to skip two meals a day and only eat a sandwich, banana and celery. And you should NEVER exercise to the point of being light headed. You should see a doctor to talk about your weight because there are things that you could check that can affect how you gain/lose weight, like your thyroid gland.

 

Also, you have to eat more- I have heard that eating breakfast actually helps you lose weight! You really need to eat three meals a day to maintain your health. I'm not a doctor, but you don't want to suffer from an eating disorder.

MOD- I take piano, iceskating and violin. I love piano and ice skating, but not so much violin. I've been taking for 4 years now and my teacher was SO bad before, he never even taught me notes he just told me where to put my finger. Then the university I was taking at got a new Russian teacher. She's EXTREMELY mean, but very good. I've taken one semester from her. She was horrified that I didn't even know scales or notes (as was I). She also insists that I do recitals, but when I'm so bad (and busy), I don't want to. Part of the reason why I'm so bad is because I never practiced. I was intending on using the summer to teach myself the basics (like scales) but summer is over now and I have only practiced like 5 times total. How do I get myself to practice more? Also, I love skating, but I'm slow when it comes to sports and I hardly ever want to go practice that either. I always feel tired and sluggish. When tests come up I work reallly hard, but until the test I NEVER want to go practic




If you are really determined to become a better musician or ice skater, you will find the time to practice! If you practice for longer periods of time, as opposed to only working really hard before the tests, you will realize that you will become better because you will have more time to practice!

I am twelve years old, and this year I will be going into the seventh grade. I have a uniform, so I'm going to wear a navy skirt because it's allowed. But I started to look at my legs recently, and I find that they aren't very smooth and sort of hairy! I want to ask my mom, but I'm afraid I will be "growing up" too fast for her, because she already said that. What should I say?




If your mom is really anti-shaving, but you're still embarrassed by leg hair, maybe you can wear some cute knee high socks, or maybe some funky tights!

I have 2 things i need help with.
1. i hav unwanted hair on my upper lip. which will make my hair go away longer? bleach or waxing?
2. Whenever i excersize, after my legs are really sore. is there anything i can do to make the ache go away




Waxing might be a little more painful, but it will definitely last longer.  And your legs are sore after you work out because you exhausted the muscles! So, next time after an intense work out, make sure you stretch! Stretching is the key to avoiding unwanted sore-ness!

Because you're just picking up your schedule, I would recommend keeping it casual, but cute.  So, maybe skinny jeans, and a fun top! That way, if you see someone you know, you'll really "WOW" them with your amazing style!

I dont mind at all if you ask multiple questions, and i wont judge you by the questions you ask! I ask plenty of "dumb" questions too, and i totally get what you are going through! I will also get back to you ASAP- I get one GL more than 2 times a day (Woo-Hoo for fast and accurate answers!)

i started middle school today(7th grade) and saw a really cute guy. but im sooooo afraid to talk to people i dont know especially guys! how can i overcome this fear and maybe talk to him? plus he is friends with a bunch of guys i know so they might tease me or him even if i just talk to him. and the only time i might be able to talk to him is if i sit near him in target (a 12 minute homeroom) THANKS!!!

 

Hey girl, I'd try sitting near him then in Target, if you feel that's your opportunity to chat with him.  Who cares what other people think if talking to him makes YOU happy. Follow your heart and don't be afraid to take chances. It's better than having a constant regret of not being friendly and chatting with him.

im supperrr bored! my dad is at work and my mom runs a business at home! so i cant go anywhere im an only kid and only have a dog..what r some ways i can have fun at home or in my backyard..thx plz hurry i do is go online thx =]

 

Hey girl! Try taking your dog for a walk or teaching him/her a new trick!  You could bead a necklace, make a collage or craft, write in a journal, paint a picture, invite a friend over and kick a soccer ball around or throw a frisbee. Or grab a good read, music, and a lawn chair, and head outside!

ok, so recently ive been thinking of becoming a vegetarian...the problem is that i realized i eat meat like everyday and i have no control over what my parents make for dinner. i cant tell my parents i want to become a vegetarian becuz they wont support me. im outnumbered. what should i do?? i want to eat less meat becuz i feel guilty when i do eat it! help! thanks!!

 

Hey girl, there is a healthy alternative. You don't have to cut out meat, but you could try to eat less red-meat.  This means you can still eat poultry, but not pork.  Lean meats, like grilled chicken, are good for you.  Salmon and Tuna are also healthy meat options.

Hey girl, I think it depends on the individual and the maturity levels of the people involved.  Sometimes the lives of 13 and 16 year olds are so different that it can be hard to relate and be compatible.
