Can You Hear Me Now? The Truth About Hearing Loss in Teens

 
Turn down those iPods, girlies. According to a new study published in The Journal of the American Medical Association, one in five teenagers now suffer from at least a slight loss of hearing.
 
The study found that in recent years slight hearing loss has increased by thirty percent, and greater hearing loss, or "mild hearing loss," has increased as well.
 
The scary part? Many teens may not even notice if their hearing has been affected. Turns out, the music you listen to, whether on an MP3 player or blasting at a concert, may be dangerously loud. Avoid cranking that dial to eleven and talk to your doc if you think this is a prob for you.

uh oh i think thats happening to me cuz i listen to loud music and whenever someone calls me i dont hear them the first time, or wen someones talking to me i have to have them repeat wat they sed....scary. And all this time i thot it was bcuz my head was in the clouds,...which cud also be a reason i daydream a lot these days for sum odd reason

I don't like high volume anyway. It makes me dizzy. When my older brother puts the volume on the highest in his car, my younger brother and I always turn it down. We end up fighting over the volume all the way to wherever we're going:p

This scares me because I turn up my volume for songs I like and that is a lot. I heard about this and now it just makes me worry that I could lose some of my hearing.

i ALWAYS blast it, not on LOOOOUD but i do it so that i cant hear ppl next to me lolz not on purpose but i realized my mom had been trying to get my attention and i hadnt heard, i adore music, any kind! and my mom also comes home wit the music so loud u can hear her wen she parks lolz

MOD-
i am having a bday this weekend with family and family friends. my crush is coming and I want to look really good. so I have a few q's, I hope that is okay.
1) How can I get my skin completely clear and beautiful by saturday? its pretty good right now but it could be better.
2) Tell me if this sounds like a good outfit, a white spaghetti strap dress, with orange stitched looking designs, and i am thinking about wearing it with yellow, dressy flip flops. and what should i do with my hair? its blond, wavy, and shortish, like in a longer bob.
3) I am getting braces tomorrow! and i am really worried i will look bad, its not like i will be the only one when i go to my new school this year because basically everyone gets them now but I am stressing about what colors to choose, do you have any suggestions?

1. try a cool cucumber face mask! they're relaxing and make your skin glow. Also, don't forget to wash your face twice a day!

2. sounds adorable! i think you should let your hair dry naturally so you get that pretty natural wave, then put it back in a half up do (looks great with spaghetti straps).

3. choose your fave colors! you want to love them the entire time you have them, not have them match a one time outfit!
