Am I bisexual?

 

I feel like I might be bisexual, but not because I feel sexually attracted to people of the same gender, just emotionally and physically (like thinking a girl is REALLY good looking, you know?). I don't want things to get awkward with the other kids at school, but it's hard to be myself around them.
 
My friends are guys, so what if I am bisexual and they start cracking jokes or act weird around me? I tried talking to my mom, but she changed the subject after five minutes. I don't know what to do or who to talk to.
 
It sounds like you have a lot of sexual confusion, which is totally normal! Many adolescents question their sexuality. And even if you’re not bisexual, it’s normal to notice that girls are pretty, and to enjoy being around females for emotional support. That’s what friends are for!
 
It’s OK to be unsure of your sexuality, but it’s important to surround yourself with people who you can be yourself with and who appreciate you for who you are. If your guy friends don’t realize your awesomeness, then maybe ya need to make some girl friends, too. It’s good to have friends and mentors who you can talk to about this stuff, but it’s also important to talk to your parents. Sometimes moms don’t really get it the first time—try broaching the subject again or else talk to your school counselor for tips on how to chat with your parents.

When it comes to thinking you are bi or not it can happen with some of us because we are developing and going through puberty and movies and magazines are so into showing us so much more sexual than guys. So it could be that we just get used to seeing us in certain ways and become attracted or think we become interested in other girls.

We have also talked about being straight or bi at sleepovers and we all respect each others views but joke that some of us like guys too much to be bi, plus we also joke that if you like seeing guys naked you dont have to be to concerned about being bi. I am not sure if that is true but its funny to joke about it.

MOD My guy friend is bisexual. Before, people used to tease him ENDLESSLY about it, and he would act like he didn't care, but I know NO ONE can take blows for that long. =/ We're in seventh grade now, and more people know him, and know better than to make fun of him. Smile Frown But, every once in a while someone always asks him "Are you a guy or a girl?" and now he's forced to say "both" so ppl won't go off when he answers "guy". And, sometimes it's not their fault, they just plain out say "Oh, she did it!" or "Look at her!" Everytime me or another friend is around when someone asks this, we snap at them and they go away. Tong Should we keep on trying to defend him? Or just let it be..?

 

Hey girl! People can be so mean. I bet your friend is so happy that you have his back. Definitely continue being there for him because being different is hard, and they need people like you to lean on. You're being a very noble person, why stop now?! Good job girl!

I'm not bi, and I think some girls are pretty. It's normal, thinking other people are attractive. I just don't want to make out with other girls.

Hi! I am fifteen and I think I might be bisexual. For example, I have a crush on one of my best girl friends at the moment. What should I do about the crush? I don't know if she is bi too, but I don't want to hide my affections forever! She's a great person, and would probably understand if I was bi, but I don't know how she would react if she knew that I like her. Please help me! I'm tired of hiding...

Hey girl, I'd hold off for now. Making an advance on her is going to freak her out more than anything. Tell her you're bi first and see how she reacts. Do it as a friend right now.
