Whether you went overboard with the tweezing or walked outta the salon with pink patches above your eyes, we’ve got quick fixes for common enemies of awesome arches.
 
The Prob: The urge to keep plucking.
Quick Fix: Once you’re two inches away from the mirror, it’s easy to go overboard and say “just one more hair...ten times” The next thing ya know, you’re stuck with two pencil drawings above your eyes. Avoid the urge by only plucking weekly (say, on Friday night). Otherwise, leave your tweezers in your beauty bag. And remember: natural-looking eyebrows are in, so only pluck stray hairs—not your entire arch.

The Prob: Tell-tale pink spots from waxing.
Quick Fix: Yanking hair off facial skin can leave reddish-pink patches behind. To soothe, apply a cold compress for a few minutes. Then, dab on a soothing product (avoid harsh chemicals on your sensitive skin, OK?). We like Clean + Easy Azulene Oil ($7, sallybeauty.com)
 
The Prob: Uh-oh. You (or your esthetician) was a little overzealous.
Over-plucking or waxing happens to the best of us. Use a brow pencil that matches (or is slightly lighter) than your arches to lightly fill a sparse patch. Don’t got all sortsa artistic on your face and completely redraw what’s missing. What you fill in should be light ‘n’ natural. Take a step back and look after every couple flicks of the pencil to ensure you’re spot-on. Try Shobha Brow Pencil ($16, myshobha.com)

Hey Hockeygal5, a thong can be worn as underwear or swimwear. It's designed like any other undergarment but with less fabric. It's very skimpy and doesn't cover your rear as much as regular underwear. Xoxo

I got this fancy electric razor for easter, with a small eye brow attatchment. I hated plucking so my mom was gonna teach me to shave my eye brows. I didn't hear her say wait , so I turned it on. In 10 seconds I had shaved off half of my eyebrow.

Hey girly! You could always go to a salon, and get them waxed. Typically, it costs between $8-12. And, they're pros, so you wouldn't have to worry about messing them up Smile

My mom has taken me to get electrolysis on my eyebrows a few times, and I like how they look afterward, but it hurts really bad and after I'm done I have little red scabs over the hair follicles. Will my skin ever get used to the electrolysis? Is there a different way to get rid of the hair besides waxing or plucking or electrolysis?




Hey! I don't know too much about electrolysis so I can't necessarily speak to that, and nothing comes to mind in terms of other ways to remove hair, good luck!

Hey Mel,

Fake nails are really bad for our natural nails, so believe it or not it's normal to experience peeling, tearing, or softening of our natural nails after we remove them. Unfortunately, the only thing to do is to wait for them to grow out completely. Use some more acetone nail polish remover to make sure all of the glue is gone. Afterwards, wash your hands and clip your nails so they're short and clean. t's important to keep them clean and well-groomed while they're growing, and you can also apply a fast-growing clear nail polish (like Sally Hansen) to help them along. Pamper your nails and nail beds with lotion every day - massage your cuticles (the little bits of skin by the nail bed) and just try to be patient!

Hey girlie, a trick that I learned is to use eye drops that make redness go away on your eyebrows. Just put a few drops on your finger and rub it wherever there are red spots.

Hey girlie, draw a line on your eyebrow with an eyeliner pencil or something else that will come off easy so you know where you need to stop plucking. In the meantime, use an eyebrow pencil that matches your eyebrow to fill in what's missing.

So were you plucking with tweezers or shaving? It's definitely better to use tweezers — I don't think you're supposed to shave your eyebrows. For the time being, brown eyeliner will probably work as long as it is about the same color as your eyebrow hair. It may be noticeable but you should try to blend it into your hair in a way that isn't overly noticeable. Fix your eyebrows in front of a mirror so that you are sure it will look OK. For the future, maybe you could draw out a guideline with your eyeliner/eyebrow pencil, and then pluck the spaces that are around that. It's normally best to only pluck from the bottom. You could also get your eyebrows waxed at a salon and then pluck to follow the eyebrow shape that was waxed.

It may hurt a bit when tweezing, trust me I went through this, and it does hurt A LOT! But you get used to it after a while. Just think about the end result of what you'll have. A trick is to put ice on them to kind of freeze them before you tweeze them. It can help numb the pain a bit. Good luck!

See I'm going to a school with uniforms and you cannot wear makeup, but I wear mascara, cause without it, I look REALLY tired, and was wondering if I dyed them instead, if I could just curl them and they'd look like they had mascara on them? Hey girlie, you can get them tinted, I think is what they call it, at some salons for $10-30. It'll make your eyelashes permanently darker.

hey girl, there's a new process with a string that somehow gets the hairs off. Apparently it's completely painless. They usually have kiosks in the mall for this process. I've never tried it, but why not give it a go! =]

My eyebrows are full, and look bushy, and my friends make fun of me all the time, and if i tweeze them they look weird, and if i cut the brow hairs short, u can see place where there is no hair, my eyebrows are practically a straight line, and i am afraid of waxing n sometimes when I tweeze the hairs are so thick it hurts, what should i do to make them look nice???????????????????????




hey! full brows are beautiful and can be a very face defining feature, you could just accept them and tell your friends not to be so mean. If you still want to shape them waxing tweezing, and nair products are your most basic options. good luck!

i keep my eyebrows the same as they have been my whole life. the only places i pluck are the middle (so i dont get a unibrow) and the underside where the strays are...to tell the truth, i like the kinda bushy kinda polished brows. i dont like the REALLY thick ones or the really skinny ones

MOD MOD MOD Why am i getting pimples/zits on my knees? I shower 5-6 times a week, and i only shave every 2-4 days. And the only products i use on my legs is extra sensitive shaving cream, aveeno body wash, and sometimes this reallly good orange flavored exfoliator body wash, and aveeno sestive lotion. ive used all of these product for years. wats wrong?

 

 

Hey girly girl! It's possible that they could be ingrown hairs from shaving, rather than pimples. I would maybe try using some acne wash on your knees and see if that clears it up. Oxy makes a great clinical strength acne wash. If it still doesn't clear up, then you could always make an appointment with your dermotologist to get it checked out Smile

I have the WORST hereditary dark circles under my eyes. I use coverup, but it fades them a little bit but not a lot. Is there any good ways to COMPLETELY conceal them? Like foundation and concealer?

Hey chickie,

I have mild dark circles, so what I do is use a cream concealer just on the dark parts {I dab it on with my finger}, then a liquid foundation {applied with a makeup sponge} over top. Makeup specialists recommend using a concealer stick that is green in shade in order to off-set the really dark circles... so try going to your closest makeup store {Sephora, Ulta, a department store like Macys, etc.} and ask an employee to help you find some of that. I also blend white eyeshadow on the inside corner of my eyelid and use a sweep of gold shimmer to reflect light and call more attention upwards. There are definitely little tricks you come across when you experiment more Smile

Hey, girlie! Acne def. stinks. If it's out of control you might consider visiting a dermatologist. For now, I'd lay off the makeup and let your skin breathe. Are you eating a lot of greasy foods? Are you stressed out? Things like that can make your skin worse than normal.

I'm a cheerleader, and the past couple of weeks at my gymnastics gym they have been having open gym for competitive cheerleading. I think I'd like it, but it is really expensive. its $500, plus this year I'm also going on a school trip for $500. My mom is also getting her hours cut, and I don't think there is a big possibility, but there is a possibility she could get fired sometime in a few months (maybe not, who knows, my dad works too he works full time my mom part time). I want to try it, but I feel really bad about the money because I feel like it is my responsibility to try to save money because my dad and brother spend money whenever they want, and lots of it. hey! Sorry to hear that, it's a tough  decision for sure.  Talk to your mom. Acknowledge the fact that you know times are tight. Hey girlie, your eyebrows won't look stubbly when they grow back in, but it will take a few weeks. Try an eyebrow pencil to fill them in until they do.

MODMODMODMOD So there is this guy that likes me and asked me out. The thing is though, I don't like him back, at all! The only reason that I put up with him and make conversation is because I like hanging out with his friends. He is super rude and annoying(not just to me but to everyone). Also, I just am not interested in him. He is not my type at all and besides, I have a crush on someone else. I said that I'm not allowed to date(because I'm not) but now he is practically stalking me! He keeps trying to talk to me on Facebook and I ignore him. He tries to talk to me by our lockers but I just say vague things and try to be as polite but cold as possible. Also, if he sees me going to my locker he all but sprints to his locker to lurk! If anything, I've been rude to him since the start. What should I do? I don't want to be mean or anything but I don't want to talk to him!!!!!

Hey girly! There is no minimum weight for having your period. However, if you're really thin, or super active, then your period will delay and not come until later. And, you do not have to have boobs for a period to come, however usually they do go hand in hand, around the same time Smile
