Everybody loves a good Halloween movie, so what could be
better than a whole night full of ‘em? Whether you wanna be scared out of your
mind or just need a little spook to liven up the season, you’ll get your fill
with this scary movie sleepover.
Eerie Invites
Grab a stack of white cardstock and cut out invites in the
shape of ghosts. Give ‘em all faces and write out your party’s 411 across their
billowing white tummies. When your finished, rub dots of glue all over the card
and spread fake spider webs across the surface of the invite. It should be thin
enough to see through but thick enough to be creepily arachnid-like to
touch.
Devious Decorations
You want your guests to be just a little nervous before you
press play, so think dark and creepy while you decorate. Turn the lights down
low, sprinkle plastic spiders in the corners, drape faux spider webs from
shelves and snag a recording of spooky, bump-in-the-night type noises.
Monster-sized Munchies
Keep your girls from getting’ chilled to the bone with hot
chocolate, Mexican style. A dash of cinnamon, pinch o’ nutmeg and your ready to
go.
Try this take on a layer cake. GL contributing writer
Kristen Y. loves making this trifle for her guests come Halloween.
Take a break from your film fest to make these edible haunted
houses.
All ya need is a batch of sugar
cookie dough!
Wake up your sleep-headed friends with these scrummy pumpkin
chocolate chip muffins. Yum.
Don’t forget the popcorn!
Movie Marathon
Let’s get down to business! You can of course choose any
movies you like for your marathon, but we’ve got a couple o’ favorites to
recommend, first. For monsters, serial killers and ghosts (oh my!), check out
our Favorite Scary Flicks list.
For films that are more funny than freaky, see if you can
find way-old horror movies. The original Frankenstein and Dracula films, for
example, aren’t as scream inducing for modern audiences that are used to
ultra-realistic special effects.
Not feelin’ the need to scare yourself silly? That’s totally
fine, girly, just check out our list of 13 Not-So-Spooky Movies to keep the
Halloween flavor minus the horror.
