Chocolate candy bark

Check these out, too...

  • Ultimate banana pudding parfait
  • 8 adorable Easter-y things to make this weekend
  • Easy lemon crumble bars
Lookin’ for a tasty way to polish off those Halloween leftovers?

Don’t binge! Whip up a batch of this sweet ‘n’ satisfying, no-bake chocolate bark. Wrapped up in colorful plastic, it makes a great gift for coaches and teachers. Maybe they’ll put in a good word for ya during conferences…

What You’ll Need:

8 oz. chocolate (pick your fave: dark, milk or white)

Assorted candies, nuts or dried fruit

Gallon-sized plastic bag

Hammer

Parchment paper-lined baking tray (plastic wrap or wax paper works, too)

Spatula

Access to a refrigerator

What You’ll Do:

1. Pick out some complimentary candies—Butterfingers and M&Ms? Yum!—and take them out of their wrappers. Toss ‘em into a plastic bag, squeeze out all the air and seal. Then take it outside (or over a cutting board if Mom says it’s OK) and crush the candy into small pieces using a hammer.

2. Melt your chocolate of choice in a nonstick saucepan or a double boiler (heatproof glass bowl over a pot of boiling water). Stir occasionally.

3. Once the chocolate is melted, pour your candy (plus nuts and dried fruit if you like) in with the chocolate and combine.

4. Pour the mixture over the parchment paper-lined baking tray. Use a spatula to spread it evenly and push it into the corners. Aim for ¼-inch thickness.

5. Place the tray into the refrigerator until the chocolate hardens, which will probably take an hour or two. Cut it into squares and perform a taste test. Delish!

That looks like a perfectly easy, and YUMMY Christmas prezzie for my family. I'll just put candy canes in instead of nuts or berries. I'll have to whip some up when they're not around. (Bonus? Some for me to munch on. Yum!)

Mod mod Smile
I really want to make this! But I was wondering what kind of candy should I put in it? Or do I just put nuts?
Thank you Smile

Hey girl, you could just do nuts or if you want to make it more festive, chopped candy cane or M&Ms. Mmm!

MOD MOD MOD!
I am REALLY low on money...I'm only 12 years old so it's not like I can go and get a job. Any ideas for me on how to make some money?

Hey chica,

Why not try dog-sitting or baby-sitting for some people in your neighborhood?

This sounds yummy but I make almost the same thing but instead of using nuts and dried fruit, etc. I use peppermints!! I call it peppermint bark!! I first got the idea from Williams Sonoma where they gave out samples of theirs. I was going to buy it but a box of it was like $20-30!!

MOD MOD How many servings does this recipe make? My friends want me to make it for part of their christmas presents and i have no Idea how much to make

Hey chicaa! It uses an 8 oz chocolate bar, so I'd say you would get a couple of pieces for probably two people out of it. If each girl wants three or four pieces, I may suggest using one recipe per girl, or two girls just to be safe. Let's be honest, we all know girls love chocolate so the more the merrier! Let us know how delicious it turns out! Smile

Hey Mod?? what`s a thong cause I kinda wanna start wairing one??

Hey chica, a thong is basically really tiny underwear. Rather than having a backside, thongs just have thin strings of fabric.

We have soo much candy leftover from Halloween since no body came by our house for trick-or-treating. I'm so scared that I'm gonna add pounds by this. I'm thinking about giving out all the candy to random people.
