5 Speedy Moves for Flat Abs

Blast those abs into shape with our current fave moves. Bust out these exercises while you’re watching TV or after a jog and you’ll be on your way to a serious six-pack. (And remember: go through each of the sets twice.) For even quicker results? Up your cardio, girl.
 
Vertical Leg Crunch
Lie on the floor and extend your legs straight up with your knees crossed. With your hands on your head, contract your abs, lifting your shoulder blades off the ground. Lower back to start. Be careful not to jerk your neck. Do 10-15 reps.

Plank
Start in a push-up position. Lower down, so that your palms, forearms and elbows are flat on the ground. Keep your back flat and hold this position for 30-60 seconds. Rest and then repeat a 3-5 times.
 

Side-Plank
Lie on your side, with your hips knees and ankles stacked, resting on your forearm (left or right). With both feet together, raise your hip off the floor (you’ll keep yourself balanced with your forearm and feet). Keep your back straight and hold for 30-60 seconds. Rest and repeat on the opposite side. Repeat the entire sequence three times. 

Bicycle
Lie on the floor on your back. With your hands behind your head, bring your right knee towards your chest, while turning your body and bringing your left elbow towards your right knee. Switch sides, bringing your right elbow to your left knee. Continue to alternate, moving your legs in a “peddling” motion for 10-15 reps.

Six-Inches
Lie on the floor with your feet together and hands on your side. Lift your feet off of the floor holding them about six inches off the ground. Try to hold for 30 seconds (it’s gonna be tough!). Repeat three times.

MOD MOD MOD MOD!!!! Well I am very healthy and always exercise when I can and I played field hockey and now I'm playing basketball. Well I try to work out every other day or when I don't have practice. I run for 45 minutes each run (but I add 5 minutes every week). My question is that now adays, well ever since I started working out like this, I am hungry every second of the day! like yesterday for lunch I had this english muffin pizza that I made THEN I was still hungry so I had some chicken and dumplings but I was still hungry but I thought to myself I should stop so I did. Then for dinner my mom was making chicken noodle soup but I was REALLY hungry when she started making it so I had a hamburger, and I still had a bowl of soup after that too. I've just been so hungry lately and I have't gotten my period this month and that usually happens whenever I exercise but I can't stop exercising because I like the way it makes me feel and I have to stay in shape for basketball. Thanks!

 

Hey girl, 

It makes sense that you would be hungrier if you're working out more, because your body needs to restore its energy. You do need to make sure that what you're eating is healthy and also that you're drinking lots of water. You certainly shouldn't stop exercising, but I don't know why you aren't getting your period when you are exercising. I don't think you have a problem, but you might want to ask a doctor if he or she has any comments about how much you should ideally be eating or why you aren't getting your period because of this. Congrats for exercising so much!

Mod! my stomach always sticks out, and im not sure why. theres no fat anywher else on my body. Why is this happening, and what can i do to fix it?

So I have a friend, we'll call her Anna, and she is dating this boy, we'll call him Jake. Anyways, Iwas friends with Jake before he started dating Anna, and ever since Anna and him have started dating I have become even better friends with him because we all hang out together sometimes. Well I KNOW that Jake doesn't like me and I DEFINITELY don't like him but we've been texting for two days straight and I'm worried my friend will find out and think that something is going on between us (which there is not). Should I tell Anna or stop texting Jake or just keep doing what I'm doing? Thanks-you soooo much!!!




Hey girlie, maybe stop texting him so much. It's okay for you to text him every once and awhile, but too much texting might upset Anna. Be upfront with her and tell her that you're just friends with him and you're definitely not interested.
