Help! I have no idea what to get my crush for Christmas.

 

Dave: Gee, I don’t even know the guy! Seriously, there’s a fine line when it comes to gift-giving. There’s always the chance of going overboard—or under. As with all things in life, it’s best to be thoughtful. For every dollar you can spend, take one minute to think about what the guy would appreciate. The boy lives and dies for the Knicks? Replace his ratty old hat from sixth grade with a cool New York lid, and you’ll have one happy guy. It’s a lot cheaper than sodas at The Garden. Guys expect the obvious—do something unique to set yourself apart from the crowd.

 

Bill: Dave’s on a roll here, so I won’t upstage him with my brilliant ideas. I’ll just go simple—food. Guys love it. Bake something. Really go nuts and make something from a Martha Stewart mag, like cheesecake or gourmet cookies. I know. Sounds hokey, but you can’t miss with food.

Innocentin august my bgf asked me out and i said yes. the problem is that we've only seen each other like 5 times since then, (different schools)and when we do we barely talk. he doesn't call, and i gave him my number. i'm starting to lose the crush i had for him and feel bad when i think that he thinks i like him a lot back.(B)I like a guy in my grade at my school. should i break up with my bgf? how can i do it so i don't break his heart as much as possible?

Hey babe,

Don't feel bad! A relationship of any kind {whether it's casual or serious} takes work and, if either of you isn't making a serious effort to see/talk to each other, it's destined to fade away. Try getting in touch with your BGF and talking about the situation, then see how that goes. You could either a) decide that you want to try harder and get back that "spark" you had before, or b) decide it would make you both happier to be single again. Neither is right or wrong - you just have to decide what works for you <3

I really like this guy ty hes hilarious easy to be around and super athletic. The only problems are that a.)One of my best friends like him too. b.) I just resently got close to him again after the last time I told him i liked him(it got really akward) and c.) hes never asked a girl out before and its kinda gone to his head. I really like him and we really clique but if he doesnt like me back then i dont want our entire friendship to be ruined. The reason im so worried about this is that my friend who likeds him is SUPER flirty and has a huge attitude and it drives him bonkers and im sortta worried that if i tell him i like him then hell really read into the little flirting that i do do. Please help.

It's tough, but when we like someone we always have to weigh the pros and the cons of actually telling them we like them. Sometimes everything works out and it's ok to do so, but other times there are big consequences that could come about if we let it slip. This sounds like one of those situations. I wish I could help more than this, but you need to carefully consider what it would do to your friendship if you tell him - and then decide if you're ok with that or not. Sometimes it's worth it, but other times it's better to try to focus on other things {meeting new guys, having fun with your girl friends, etc.} until the crush dies down a little so you don't break a good friendship in the meantime. {Also, don't stress about the situation with your best friend liking him - she'll take the hint eventually if he isn't crushing on her back!} I know it doesn't seem like that's possible now, but you'd be surprised what some time can do! Okay, so last year I broke up with my BF, or rather he broke up with me. I was so devastated. But this year, I sort of got over it. I havent really truly ever liked a guy since then, but I just realised how cute and sweet my BGF is, and now I really like him. I am sort of pretty, except for my chapped lips, so Im self consious. Talk about things you enjoy and things he enjoys, share jokes together, pick on each other in a cute friendly way, and try to get to know each other on a deeper level.
