Dave: Gee, I don’t even know the guy! Seriously, there’s a
fine line when it comes to gift-giving. There’s always the chance of going
overboard—or under. As with all things in life, it’s best to be thoughtful. For
every dollar you can spend, take one minute to think about what the guy would
appreciate. The boy lives and dies for the Knicks? Replace his ratty old hat
from sixth grade with a cool New York lid, and you’ll have one happy guy. It’s
a lot cheaper than sodas at The Garden. Guys expect the obvious—do something
unique to set yourself apart from the crowd.
Bill: Dave’s on a roll here, so I won’t upstage him with
my brilliant ideas. I’ll just go simple—food. Guys love it. Bake something.
Really go nuts and make something from a Martha Stewart mag, like cheesecake or
gourmet cookies. I know. Sounds hokey, but you can’t miss with food.
