Help! I have no idea what to get my crush for Christmas.

 

Dave: Gee, I don’t even know the guy! Seriously, there’s a fine line when it comes to gift-giving. There’s always the chance of going overboard—or under. As with all things in life, it’s best to be thoughtful. For every dollar you can spend, take one minute to think about what the guy would appreciate. The boy lives and dies for the Knicks? Replace his ratty old hat from sixth grade with a cool New York lid, and you’ll have one happy guy. It’s a lot cheaper than sodas at The Garden. Guys expect the obvious—do something unique to set yourself apart from the crowd.

 

Bill: Dave’s on a roll here, so I won’t upstage him with my brilliant ideas. I’ll just go simple—food. Guys love it. Bake something. Really go nuts and make something from a Martha Stewart mag, like cheesecake or gourmet cookies. I know. Sounds hokey, but you can’t miss with food.

Hey girl, I'm not 100% sure, since I don't handle subscriptions myself.  But I got an e-mail about it, and it said the Cyber Monday deal ends tomorrow.  So I think you've got one more day!

Mod, I really need help! I'm not very good at talking to people who arent my very best friends because I always run out of stuff to say and then it ends up totally awkward (especially with guys!) what are some good conversation topics or other things to talk about? My parents are having a christmas party soon and one of my dads friends has a son who is SO cute (he came to the party last year and ended up asking for my number!) and I really dont want to get stuck in an awkward situation with him! Thank you so much! Smile

 

Hey girl!  First, remember that it's completely normal to be more comfortable talking to your BFFs than to new people.  Some awkward moments are bound to happen, and that's okay!  At the party you can ask about his plans for Christmas or break, or what prezzies he's hoping to get.  You can also ask him about school, what he likes to do for fun, sports, movies, or music.  Just go for it!  It will get easier the more you practice. Smile

MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD!!! Ok so this article was kinda helpful (food, duh!) but I need something for my boyfriend. We've been dating for 8 months and I wanna get him something really special. Any other ideas?

 

Ooh, that's exciting!  It's hard to say for sure what would be good without knowing the guy.  That's why it's important to think about what you know about him.  For example, if he has a favorite band, you could get him a poster of them for his room.  Think about his interests, or anything special you two have in common.  As long as you put some thought into it, I'm sure he'll love it. Smile
