Check these out, too...7 things to say (and do) to keep your parents from worrying about you3 times it's OK to tell your bestie's secretIn the News: Exercise really does calm you downWhat to do when your parents are worried about something bigMy dad is sexually abusing me. How can I tell my mom?I'm depressed. I know I am. I looked up the symptoms and I have just about all of them. I'm not going to kill myself, because that would be unfair to my family, but I really don't want to deal with life anymore.

When I try to talk about my feelings with my mom, she says that it's because she is a bad parent and she's sorry, but that I should try to be happier. I need help and I can't talk to anyone.
Hey, hon. I’m sorry that you’re dealing with such a tough time. But it’s great that you are in touch with your feelings and trying to do something to improve the situation.
Talking to someone about what’s getting’ ya down is def the way to go. If your mom can’t hear it, then try chatting with your school counselor, your doctor or another trusted adult. You do need to seek help, and talking with an adult who can hear what you’re going through and guide you in the right direction is essential.
You deserve to be happy and enjoy school, make friends and just be the great girl you are. After you’ve had the chance to talk with someone about how you’re feeling, you might want to try writing a letter to your mom. It sounds like it’s really tough for her to hear what you’re going through, but maybe if you were to write down your feelings and explain that trying to cheer up is not working, her emotions wouldn't cloud her ability to see the situation for what it is.

POSTED IN problems with my parents, dealing with depression, therapy
It was weird... When the title just caught my eye, and when I read this, it was like a serious reliving of the past 2 years... Not very much fun when you're sad in the first place...but yeah, I totaly understand where you are coming from... It's really hard for me because my mom is that way and to make that worse, she's bi-polar and clinically depressed and where I get it from...and my dad really doesn't want to have a part of it so he just says to 'try to be happy' the same way your mom does... I can't count how many times I've heard that phrase and 'I'm sorry' from my dad and mom... It makes it worse at times and sad thing is I guess I've just always been so intune with others and trying to figure out their problems, I tend to forget about myself haha xD It's one of those things where the people I love have always been more important than my well-being, I guess? Anyway, I'm usually the one helping everyone and in turn never helps herself...

I had OCD and went through a living hell of depression from it. It is the worst feeling ever. I hit myself really hard because it felt good to inflict pain and was going to cut myself but thank God I didn't. I was cured after therapy. Get help and do not harm yourself. I created a site called Live Laugh Love Learn and hope you like it! It is full of cool things like inspirational life posts, awesome style/beauty tips, entertainment reviews and notifications, health advice, (eating well, fitness, body image) games, chat rooms, and a section where you can send things in that everyone can see, like poems and you can ask me for advice! Cool, huh? Please check it out, visit everyday for lots of cool stuff,join... and spread the word! I am hoping it will get popular. Get more info on my profile!

I am really sorry for you. I have a sister that is just like you. My parents are really stubborn, they won't listen to my sister and only have a couple friends at school. I know she has lots of things bottled up inside her. As her younger sister, I am trying to help her open up and be happier as much as I can. I wish you good luch, girl. You deserved to be happy
