More holiday tunes for you! The Yule Logs

If you’re tired of that typical holiday music you’re currently hearing on the radio, The Yule Logs’ new album, Walked With A Reindeer, should be your next iTunes download.

Think the Beach Boys with edge. Four boys from Chico, California have taken rock music to a whole new level.  And their second album, which released just last month, is a sort of holiday greetings we’ve never heard before.

The album starts with a finger-tapping tune that introduces you to the boys and gives you expectations of the songs to follow. Without disappointment, The Yule Logs maintain their less-than-common approach to holiday jams.

“Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town”—a typically well-known Christmas song that is traditionally happy-go-lucky—gets a spin with low vocals and slow start that creates an eerie feeling and may have you wondering if the Grinch is the one singing.

Although The Yule Logs may be known as a Christmas and Hanukkah rock band, Walked With A Reindeer focuses a bit more on the Christmas aspect, with songs like “First Christmas for Baby Jesus” and “That Girl (For Christmas).”

Don’t celebrate Christmas? No fear! There are also tracks for the overall Holiday season, including the band’s own rendition of “Winter Wonderland.”

Walked With A Reindeer is definitely an album to blast in the car while your mom, and all the other people on the road, wonder why you’re having so much fun. Both of The Yule Logs albums can be found on iTunes, Amazon or YuleLogsMusic.com so what are you waiting for?!  Be sure to check them out and let us know what you think!
