Delectable chocolate-covered popcorn

 
One of my favorite sweet treats is this drizzled (or drenched) chocolate-covered popcorn. It’s the perfect combination of salty and sweet, and is an impressive and inexpensive gift for teachers, secret Santas, crushes—anyone, really!

 

Ingredients:

Popcorn (Microwave popcorn is fine if its plain.)

Pinch of salt

Chocolate (Dark, milk, white or a combo—it’s your choice)

 

Directions:

Pop and salt your corn, then melt your chocolate of choice in a double boiler—a heat-proof bowl set inside a pot on the stove containing boiling water; don’t let the water touch the bowl.

 

Spread the popcorn in a single layer on a wax paper-covered cookie sheet and pour the chocolate on top. How heavy-handed you are with the good stuff it totally up to you. Chill in the fridge until the chocolate sets.

 

Get fancy. You can use two different types of chocolate by allowing it the chocolate set between types. Dark chocolate with white chocolate drizzles over top is quite elegant.

 

Gift it! Scoop some of your set popcorn into a clear cellophane bag and tie it with a silky ribbon. So easy.
