Just so you know, cramps are caused by a chemical your body releases around the time of your period to make your uterus contract. So it’s completely normal for you to get cramps several days before your period.
Cramps and moodiness are part of PMS, and for a lot of girls they feel worse the week before they start their period than when they’re actually on it!
A great way to beat PMS is to eat right and exercise. Loads of girls crave chocolate before a period, but if you resist and go for a nice fruit salad instead, your body will thank ya.
Working out won’t only help get rid of period pains, but it’ll make you feel happy ‘cause it releases chemicals in your body (called endorphins) that cheer you up.
But, if you’re getting cramps after your period or at odd times during the month, then that could be a problem that you should talk to your doctor about.
Lotsa girls have irregular hormones and cramping when they first get their period because it hasn’t become regular yet, but if it makes you feel uncomfortable all the time then talk to your doc and see what’s up.
