My BFF ignores me in public

 
My “best friend” will act like a good friend when we talk online, but when I see her in public, she acts live we've never met. I'll try to talk to her face-to-face, but she won't even acknowledge my presence. It's been going on for about a month now, and I've done all I can to forget her, but it hurts. What can I do?

I'm not gonna lie, girl: Losing a friend is really hard, and it hurts even more when it's your bestie that you've gotta cut free.

Hang with a different crowd
 
Think of it like a bad breakup with a guy. Surround yourself with other true friends and let them help you get your mind off of things. Once you're having fun with your new girls, you'll begin to realize that you're doing A-OK without your old BFF.

Cut the cord
 
Just like with a breakup, you need to make the split absolute. If she won't talk to you face-to-face, send her an email expressing your feelings. Tell her that you've loved being her friend, but you can't take the split personality friendship she's currently throwing your way. Sometimes, you gotta say buh-bye.

Still feelin' blue?
 
If you're dwelling on your old amiga, consider this: Was she really a good friend to you? What about your relationship with her made your life better? If it helps, make a list of pros and cons. I bet the negatives will outweigh the positives.

hey! i would just say to her that you just needed to spend sometime alone and if that dosen't work i would just give it a few more days and then say your sorry i hope that helps!

mod mod mod I was talking to my friend who made it to state in forensics and I asked her to kindly stop talking about and she flipped on me and I was a little rude to her. I don't want to apologize until she does what do I do?




Hey girlie,

If you want to save the friendship, then be honest and tell her why it bothered you when she talked about it so much (is it maybe because you didn't make it?  Or that was all she talked about).  Let her know that you're happy for her, but there are so many other things you would love to talk to her about! Go and do something fun together Smile

My BFF can be controlling, and we really are different in areas of our life. The other day I missed a friends b-day party because it just wasn't something I could do. I had already made plans that day that i felt i shouldn't change. My BFF seemed pretty upset that I had missed that friends party. I really was hoping to go, and i had her present ready before the party. i hope to make up for the party by taking her shopping. But still, should I have cancelled my plans to go to the party?




Hey girl,

I hope your friend will understand that you sincerely care about her and wanted to make it to her party.  Just be totally honest about it and let her know that you had other plans that you needed to respect also.  Ask her what's the best way you can make it up to her!

Hey chickadee! This is always a tough sitch. As hard as it can be... communication is key. When you catch your friend acting like this, call her out on it. Not mean, but do it nicely, and let her know how it makes you feel. And, in case she doesn't realize it, then give her examples. If she's a good friend, then she'll feel bad and try to change how she acts.
