Sure, winter weather is good for sipping hot chocolate and readying by the fire, but it’s also full-on dry skin season. We found fab products to scrub up with that’ll keep your skin hydrated. Finally! No more winter flakes, scales or itchiness.

Choose a cream-based facial cleanser that’s formulated for sensitive skin to remove dirt while not over-drying your face. Follow with your fave moistutrizing lotion (with SPF!). Got really dry skin? Try washing with face wash only before bed.

Clean and Clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser, Sensitive Skin, $5, drugstore.com

We’re big fans of a gentle exfoliator, especially ‘cause sometimes salt-based ones can dry ya out. It’ll gently buff off dead skin and leave behind a major amount of moisture.
Radiance Exfoliating Body Wash, $8 burtsbees.com

Harsh truth: showering under scorching water zaps your skin of its natural moisture. The trick? Turn the temp down to something that’s more warm than scalding, and pick a body wash that’s stacked with hydrators, like jojoba and sweet almond oil.
Yes to Carrots Daily Gentle Cleanser Shower Gel, $9, yestocarrots.com

During winter months, avoiding the soap is key. Lotion-inspired body washes are a much better pick. This one has three hydrating butters (mango, cocoa and shea) to leave your skin glowing.
Neutrogena Rainbath Deep Moisture Body Wash, $19, amazon.com

MOD MOD MOD
hey im natalie and i have really bad dry skin. not only is my skin dry but it's really bumpy and i dont know why. what i needed to ask was do you know of anything that can smoothen my skin back to normal and maybe help me tan? thanks for any advice Smile

Hey girlie,

Check out this article, with tips and products for dry skin breakouts! (Don't worry that it was posted in the winter - everything still applies!) http://www.girlslife.com/post/2008/11/26/Combination-Skin.aspx?cp=all

As for helping you tan, we love the self tanning lotion in this article. No sun required - and that's the best, healthiest way to get the perfect tan! http://www.girlslife.com/post/2011/06/16/6-must-have-beauty-products-to-protect-your-skin.aspx

Mod Mod HI Smile so i want to try one of Neutrogena Oil-Free acne products. There is a neutrogena Oil-Free acne cream cleanser salicylic acid acne treatment, Neutrogena Oil-Free acne wash daily scrub, and a neutrogena Oil-Free acne wash cleansing cloths. What one do you think i should try??? Thanks so much! Smile

Hey girl. I would go for the cream cleanser, scrubs can be harsh on skin and cleansing cloths are very similar to cleasers, but more expense usually.

MOD MOD MOD so in the summer i get super tan and my skin seems to glow, but in the winter i get really pale and my skin seems dull and almost grey! Are there any tricks to make my skin glowing again without using a bunch of makeup or tanners? thanks!

Hey girl!  Sometimes skin in the winter looks dull because of dry skin.  Exfoliate once or twice a week, and make sure you use moisturizer!  This article has some other great winter skin tips:  http://www.girlslife.com/post/2011/01/14/winter-skin-and-hair-tips.aspx.  If you want to add some glow, a little blush is a good way to go.  You could also use bronzer (just dust it on the spots where the sun would hit, like your cheeks, forehead, and nose).  xoxo
