Super psyched about Valentine’s Day? The 14
th is
right around the corner. Get ready to share the love with a cupid cuties
slumber party.
Invites
Be a dear and send your best buds a sweet surprise. Cut out
hearts from colorful cardstock and write your party’s deets—who, what, where
and when—on the back. On the front, write a cute message ala candy sweethearts!
Gettin’ ready
You’ll want your buds to walk in to find a lovey-dovey
wonderland. Light pink votive candles, cover lampshades with pale pink or
lavender scarves and see if you can find some gorgeous flowers. Local grocery
stores often have inexpensive carnations, daisies and roses in fun colors.
Be mine
Your sleepover’s purpose? Well, aside from giggling the night
away, you’re gonna make valentines, of course! Be prepared with some old
fashioned trimmings: red, pink and white construction paper or cardstock,
ribbon, lace, doilies, stickers, glitter pens and magic markers—the whole
shebang. Make sure you have enough tape, glue sticks and scissors to go around.
Sweet treats
What goes better with valentines than candy? If your buds
are whizzes in the kitchen, have some cupcake mixes on hand so you can whip up
your own crazy confections. Or, bake off some brownies or cute
cookies—decorated with heart-shaped sprinkles, of course. We love these melt
your heart brownies.
Usher in the romance
This sleepover is all about love, so don’t feel guilty about
talking up that cutie in your chem class for hours on end. Check out
GirlsLife.com’s Sweeties for some aww-worthy moments. Fed up with guys? Read
about what other meanies have done to girls like you. Need a laugh? Head on
over to Guys: Blush Much.
When you’re ready to curl up in your sleeping
bags, pop in some classic romance flicks to send you off to dreamland. Casablanca, Gone with the Wind, Pretty Woman and The Philadelphia Story are a few of my faves. Sweet dreams!
