3 sweet date-night hairstyles

Whether you’re going to a dance with your BF or are going to din with your crush, we’ve got the most darling ‘dos for your Valentine’s Day. Try a modern twist on a bun, a style that flatters every girl or crazy-romantic waves for your next night on the town. Mwah!

The new ballerina bun
The latest incarnation of the bun is beyond presh and ripped straight from the runway. It’s a little sleek, but still looks feminine (not too severe). Start with dry hair. Use a straightening iron to get ultra-smooth locks. Use a comb to create a side part. Then, sweep your hair into a low, side ponytail. Loosely coil your strands into a bun and use a few bobby pins to keep them in place. Apply a bit of anti-frizz serum to keep your mane from poofing up.

Barrettes are back in a major way. A sparkly one is just right for adding a bit of glamour to a date-night ensemble. To make your extra-flattering, rock one with a side part (they look good on everyone). Then, sweep your bangs to one side and clip them in place with your sparkler. Keep your locks pretty loose—ya don’t want this look to come off as too stiff.

Our fave A-listers sport effortless waves for a reason: they exude romance and are just plain gorge. Start with damp hair. Blow your locks out, using a round brush as you go to encourage a bit of curl. Then, hit your hair with a curling iron. Hint: Don’t curl all your strands in the same direction. Use the curling iron to create a more piece-y look by varying the direction and tightness of the curls. Finish it off with some hairspray.

Try layers! That's the best way to change up your look when your hair is on the shorter side. You might not wanna go with a super short bob, so try starting layers at your chin to give it a choppy, edgy look. You can blow dry it for a soft and voluminous style, or use pomade to make the ends look piecey Smile

Hey babe,

Sure thing! Side braids are great for a subtle boho-summer vibe - take about an inch width of hair on one side of your head and braid it straight down, securing it with a lil elastic. Let it hang there with the rest of your hair for an easy-breezy look! You can always try dressing up your look with a girly headband or rock-glam clip (for the clip, try taking a one-to-two inch section of hair in the front and pulling it back along the side of your head). You could also try pulling your hair back the best you can around the nape of your neck, securing it with a hair tie, then clipping a big fake flower clip back there to hide the hair tie. It's ok if some pieces of hair fall out of the elastic. It's super feminine and really perf for the end of summer Smile

try products from drugstores that are specific for creating a beachy, wavy look (there are sprays and textualizers).  Don't use too much hairspray or other products that may be making it too stiff!

Hey chica! I was tired of my flat hair so I looked into a volumizing shampoo and mousse. The shampoo and conditioner definitely helped, but also be sure that you're keeping your hair trimmed. Split ends and weight can bring your hair down. Layers are def a good thing to have too if you want to create a more volumizing look. I'd check with your hair dresser and see what she says for some insider tips!

Hey girly! I'd try some electric rollers (curler). You can get a set at any drugstore/Target/Walmart, etc. Put them in and leave in for about a half hour, then spritz lightly with hair spray before taking out Smile

Hey there girly! I'd try blow drying your hair in sections with a big round brush. Then, put electric rollers (curlers) in your hair for about a half hour. Spritz with hair spray, then blast with hot air for a few seconds before taking them out. Then, finger comb them, and voila Smile

Hey rupert411 - I think my hairstyle is similar to yours. I have shoulder length layers and bangs. This is what I do - it is really fast. Okay, so wet down your hair a bit and get out the tangles. Then run some mousse through it, mostly on the roots. Blow-dry for 30 secs to a minute, using a brush to style it. To change it up, experiment with combing back all or some of your bangs. I also sometimes put my hair in a really high ponytail with some hanging loose. It looks cute. Hope this helps. ;)

Hey kacey - since no one answered you, I thought I'd try. So maybe if you like a sporty cute look, downplay the formal dress with a cardigan or light sweater? And then for your hair, try something like a loose side pony tail, a French braid or knot - basically put it up if you want to look sporty. Hope this helps. Smile

You know what looks really sharp and pretty on a lot of people? French braids! They are really not that hard to learn to do on yourself - I literally perfected it in 3 days. Plus I think they are just absolutely gorgeous, and they go from party to lounging arond the house to exercising to a date. I recommend trying it.

Hey girl, I'd suggest brushing out the spiral curls you get from your curling iron. That should help make your hair more Vanessa and less Shirley Temple.

Hey girl, I'd try sleeping in big fabric rollers overnight and then just taking them out and then brushing your hair until you get the amount of curl you want in the morning. Spray it and you're good.

Hey chica! The best way to get hair to grow quicker is to get regular trims. Split ends and damage prevent your hair from growing fast, so getting them chopped once every 4 weeks or so will ensure that your hair is healthy. As for hair styles, you could always rock some cute headbands. Or, pin your hair up into pin curls Smile

also there is a guy who i really like and he used to like me earlier in the year becaus he told me he did. we have a lot in common and he is sweet and funny i want him to like me again so how do i get that through to him without actually saying "i like you" ps if it helps we do have a mutual friend who is like my bgf...

Aftr my first mascara, im anxious 2 find a different one. I have kinda long/short(idk which), straight, thin lashes with lil' gaps in between some. Without mascara they r kinda noticeable but i think just wearing mascara daily would make them stand out more. Do u think i should have a lengthening mascara 4 casual days(i dont want big lashes just long natural looking lashes) and a volume+curling mascara 4 special occasions? Should i use a lash curler instead? Srry this is long but i want 2 make sure i have the perfect mascara.

Hey girlie, that sounds like a perfect idea. That way you still look pretty during the day and you have a way to make them look even better. A lash curler can be hard to use and takes more effort than it's worth. Mascara can do the same thing and it's so easy to use!

I have really confusing skin. My face gets oily during school and then like extremely dry. But i dont like to use anything while im in school. i have tried so many different things and dont know what to use anymore or what type of skin I have. Can you give me and idea of (cheap) drugstore products that I can use ( and stick to) that will prevent breakouts n stuff. Thanks! sorry its kinda long

theres this guy that might like me who sits next to me in class. he winks at me a lot, and teases me, and one time the teacher said "just right" and he was like "just like we are together." and i pretended to ignore him because i wasnt sure what he meant at the moment.
the thing is there are so many gorgeous, popular, fun girls that he would probably pick over me that ive seen him talk to. so why would he go for a loser like me?

My bffs boyfriend dumped her and she got rlly mad at him and got all of her friends to get mad at him too.Im good friends with her ex and we still txt and hang out. Im becoming super close to him because my bff stopped talking to me after she found out i still txted him. I was hanging out with him one night and I told him everything my bff was saying about him. Do you think its wrong that I told him?

 

Hey girlie. I think it may have not been the best move. You don't want to mix friends and their exes. You don't want to betray your friend's trust. But also, if she is not being nice, then talk to her about that, too.

Mod tomorrow im going to a hotel birthday party and were going to be swimming. how should i wear my hair to the party? i want it to look beachy, but still managable after were done swimming. thank you MOD(:




Hey girlie. I think you should shower and wash your hair the night before and then after you get out of the shower, put your hair into braids. This will make it crimpy, giving it that beachy look. Have fun at the party! And remember, it's all in the presentation. If you wear it confidently, people will see how great you are.

Hey girlie. That's hard. For your friend's sake, I honestly think it might be best to wait a little while before jumping into that. I know you like him, but trust me, you don't want to make your friend upset. Give it some time.

I do the first one all the time! It's really cute if you have sidebangs and you leave them out and a piece from the other side and then curl them (think Taylor Swift) or straighten them. It's so easy and you get millions of compliments.
