Will waxing wreak havoc on my arms?

I have really dark hair on my arms. If I get them waxed, what will it do to my arms?

You’re not alone in feeling self conscious about the hair on your arms. It seems normal for guys to be covered in fur, but when it comes to girls, the slightest hint of peach fuzz can send us into a tizzy.

Wanna ditch the arm hair? Waxing will keep ya smooth for about a month while shaving will make ya stubbly in just a few days. Though it’s painful—you are ripping your hairs out at the root—there shouldn’t be any negatives unless you have super sensitive skin or you ditch the directions. In rare cases, waxing can lead to minimal scarring and hyper pigmentation. It can also cause folliculitis, a skin condition in which your hair follicles become inflamed, making them red and tender to the touch.

Waxing words of wisdom:
- Always do a test patch to see if your skin reacts badly
- If you decide to go for it, ask a friend or a family member to give ya a hand so you don’t turn into a zebra.
- Are you on acne meds? Watch out, girlie. They can make your skin a lot more sensitive.
- Girls with diabetes should not wax at all because of an increases risk of infection.
- To avoid in-grown hairs, pull the waxing strip off in the direction of the hair follicle.
- Follow up with an unscented, moisturizing lotion
- Never wax when you’ve got a sunburn!
