I can't make them laugh


I have a problem with my friends at school.  I can’t find a way to entertain them. Other girls always hang out at lunch and laugh and talk, but I can’t keep up. I try to tell jokes I think they will like, but they don’t.

Dear Can’t Make Them Laugh,
You don’t have to be the class clown to be one of the gang.  Forget entertaining the crowd.  Instead of jokes, talk about what happened on the bus.  Maybe you have opinions about Britney’s meltdown of the November election. Friends will value you for remembering to say, “How’d that test go?” or “When’s your audition?” Perhaps you always have a compliment (“Fab jacket!”), an encouraging word (“You’ll be awesome!”) or the right answer (“The meeting is at 3:15”).  There are many ways to be part of the group besides being a chatterbox or stand-up comic.

thanks but if i tell the counsler she'll probably lose trust in me. what else could I do to help her?




Talk to her about telling a counselor. If you tell her theyll be able to help her feel better and convince her its a good idea. As long as your honest and caring she'll listen to you. xoxo kerra

PLEASE HELP
okay so i have a friend who used to cut but she got help and she promised she wouldn't do it again. but this guy named Evan found out and he tries to tell everyone she cut. (i'm really mad at him, because he used to cut!) And their gym teacher made them partners, and they had to play bad mitton, and evan said "let's say the birdie is your life. don't drop it." and lately she's been really really sad and she won't tell anyone whats going on except for what i just told you but i know there's more than that. And my other friend was in the computer lab with her and she said that she wasn't doing any work she was just stared at her computer and eventually looked up quotes ("for inspiration" she said.) and my friend looked a minute later and she was looking up "emo quotes"! what can i do to help her? please help!




I think you should talk to the counselor. Theyll be able to help with the bully (who is definitely not helping her) and be able to help your friend feel better. Just get her help. xoxo kerra

I have a guy friend that all my other friends hate. He's really nice to me but they don't like him they clame that he's a "player" and demeaning to girls. Even tho he's not. Everytime I defend them they get all mad at me and say that I'm choosing favorites. When really I just don't want my friends to gossip or be mean to one another. Please help!

Mod Mod Mod My friends in dance keep calling me a stealer. When one of my "friends" misplaced her shirt and socks in my bag. I told her sorry and said she must've misplaced it my bag. Then I was right next to her when she started whispering really loudly that I stole her shirt and socks. Then one of my other friends heard then they started calling me a "stealer". Then I had a performance today and I accidently got my friends hanger then she told me ," Rosemae, you have to stop stealing stuff." Then her mom just laughed and it wasn't that funny to me or my mom. Help? What should I do? Thanks for the help. Sorry if its long...

 

 

Hey girly! I'd definitely be honest with your friends and let them know that what they're saying is bothering you. Maintain that you're not stealing things, and eventually, it should pass!
