I have only three close friends. I know a bunch of kids at school and people I talk to on MySpace, but no one ever asks me to hang out and I feel like a loser. I usually have to make the plans, even with my three best friends.

Dear I Want to Make More Friends,
You aren’t a loser, so don’t trash-talk yourself. Three friends is more than some girls have, and many people are bad at initiating things but glad when someone else issues an invitation. There’s nothing wrong with being the one who says, “Let’s go to the movies,” instead of passively waiting for a call or text. As for MySpace, why get involved with people you don’t really know? The best way to make friends is to be outgoing, show interest in others and do some after-school activities.
