After running around with those kids all day, it’s time for bed…or at least a break.  Not sure how to get them settled down?  Don’t worry, bedtime (or daytime) can be a dream come true with our all time fave childhood stories.

Books they can read:

Goodnight, Moon written by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd

This sweet book about bidding goodnight to all the things in a room is the perfect bedtime story.  And in no time, you’ll be saying goodnight to those kids too. Get it now!

Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss

“I do not like green eggs and ham.  I do not like them Sam-I-am!”  We, however, love Green Eggs and Ham.  A fun and easy-to-read story, it’s a great boredom-buster. Get it now!

Books where you can do all the voices:

Owl Babies written by Martin Waddell and illustrated by Patrick Benson

Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes

With a pair of glittery glasses and a new purple plastic purse, Lilly’s day at school is fabulous.  That is, until Mr. Slinger takes them from her...and she retaliates.  Read it and get creative by putting on a play about Lilly’s eventful day. Get it now!

Books that teach them things:

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom written by Bill Martin Jr. & John Archambault and illustrated by Lois Ehlert

Help the kids with their ABC’s by reading this jazzy and rhythmic book about alphabet letters. Get it now!

The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister

Rainbow Fish learns all about the importance of sharing in this deep sea tale.  With a good lesson and pretty pictures with shiny scales, you can’t go wrong. Get it now!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

Munch along as this caterpillar eats its way to becoming a butterfly.  This colorful book is a classic must-read. Get it now!

Books with exciting adventures:

They all seem good but for some reason Where the Wild Things Are just seems kind of scary. But that may be because it scared me when I was younger.

Reading is one of the best things you can do when babysitting. I do it and the kids I watch love it.

Corduroy and The Kissing Hand are REALLY good for kids... I read it to the kids I babysat and now they read it every time I'm there!

MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like a dress up doll to my mom, I'll tell her things are too small for me but she makes me wear them anyway. She has no thought about how I feel. I want kinda short hair and she says no you're growing your hair out. It's not FAIR!!! HELP! Frown

Hey chica! You need to have a serious talk with your mom and let her know that while you love her, you're growing up and can make some of your own decisions. Maybe compromose with her and find some styles in between, both hair-wise and clothing-wise.
