How To: 3 cute ways to wear a skinny belt

Stash away those wide belts, girlie. This season, the skinny belt reigns. Layering one over your outfit makes it look thoughtfully put-together. Plus, the thinner width defines your waist to make your middle look mini. Looking for a how-to? Read on for three ways to wear ’em.

Belt a dress
It’s not a fluke that skinny belts have been popping up all over the red carpet. Stars (and their stylists) have been tossing them over even the fanciest of dresses to define the waistline while infusing a dose of coolness. Try it on for size with a spring-y sundress. Pick a cool hemp belt to top it off.

Belt a button-down
Three are better than one, right? A combo of three belts (try twisting them!) adds interest to a plain oxford. Our trick: belt ’em at your natural waist, about three inches above your belly button, for the most flattering effect.

Belt a sweater
Your fave cardi need an update? A skinny belt gives an open cardigan some shape or can make a cropped button-up look preppy. Try a little bow belt in a cheery color to make it extra girly.
