5 healthy ways to get over him

Check these out, too...

  • 5 signs your guy lost interest
  • Play hard to get--without coming off snooty
  • Do long distance relationships work?
  • What he really thinks of your fave summer outfit
  • Is there a way to flirt without being obvious?
We’ve all been there: Sitting in your PJ’s with your bestie and a pint of Ben &Jerry’s, crying your eyes out. But let’s be honest, tears and pity parties only get you so far. There’s a better way, a healthier way, to move on.  It’s time to quit thinking about him and start focusing on Y-O-U.

So long, Mr. Wrong. Hello, new and improved you!

1. Get healthy
Get your heart beating fast again…but this time, without the guy. Burn off all your negative energy by doing an exercise you heart. It’ll get your mind off things for a bit, not to mention get you one step closer to that perfect bikini bod. Trust us, you’ll feel SO much better afterwards.

2. Clean your room
Still listening to that playlist he made you? Hanging on to that photo album you wanted to give him for V-Day? Get rid of it. That’s right, all of it. Grab everything that reminds you of him and trash it (or at least box it up and ask your BFF to keep it out of sight). Wanna go one step further? Clean and rearrange your room for a fresh start.

3. Try something new
Always thought you’d be a great class prez? Been too nervous to try that pixie cut you’ve wanted for forever? Now’s the time to let go of those old fears that are holding you back and plow straight ahead into the future. Put your wildest dreams in motion and go for it! Not quite so daring? Try a new type of cuisine or finally take that kickboxing class.

4. Splurge a bit
You’ve been eyeing that adorable dress for ages. It’s a bit out of your price range, but seriously, it looks so great on you. Go ahead, girl, treat yourself. Don’t go breaking the bank, but dishing out a few extra bucks for something that makes you feel fab about yourself is totally worth it. Enjoy!

5. Hit the books
Without the guy, you’ve got a little extra time on your hands. Instead of wasting it on Facebook, do something productive. Read a book you’ve wanted to check out or take up a new hobby you’ve been dying to try. Who knows, you may just stumble upon a new passion—one that’s all about you and so not about him.

Hey girlie, just be outgoing and flirty! Talk to the boys you like and do things like make eye contact and smile at them in the hallways and touch their arm gently when you're talking to them.

MOD MOD MOD my boyfriend of almost 2 years when to the river and "fooled" aroudn with another girl. he told me and said he feel so bad about it and thinking about it makes him feel sick. the next day he broke up with me. later that wekk we got back together and he said that he loves me and wants to be with me forever. later that week he breaks up with me again saying "he doesnt feel the same and our relationship is boring." i am a complete reck and every is telling me that i will get over it. but it very hard not to think about him all the time, i love him so much and really want him back, i want him to be happy too so i dont want to force him back with me, but like i aid i miss him so much. should i give him space? and see if he starts to like me again? or should i listen to everyone and just try to forget?

Hey girl,  it sounds like this guy is confused and doesn't know what he wants, and you don't deserve that. You deserve a guy who knows he wants you, not one who wavers. My suggestion is to be fair to yourself: distance yourself from him and work on moving on. You deserve a guy proud to be with you, not one who's confused.

ive been through a lot of breakups and trust me, a lot of them have been jerks! but what i have learned is that they might regret endeing it or they might not. what i do recommend is NOT to "curse out" your ex just for ending it. sure, he might have broken your heart but he still is human and still has feelings, think of a bettr and healthier way.

MOD
my boyfriend of 2 years just broke up with me and his excuse was he didnt want to keep looking in the past and niether should i. i called him on his birthday just being nice and we started talking. i know not to go back to him becuse of what he did and im so not going to but he posts things about me on his fb page and all my friends get angry about it and tell him to quit. they all keep telling him i deserve a better explanation because he even told my best friend he was lying when he said that. i dont know what to do but i agree that i do need a better explanation can you help?

Hey girlie,

Breakups usually never go perfectly for us - they always leave us asking questions, wondering why, and there are always more things we could say to our ex. But it's really not worth it to stand in front of him and demand a better explanation - he clearly was uncomfortable with it and, whether he has another reason or not, he might not be able to vocalize it right now. But honestly, it's likely that no explanation - whether it's "good" or not - will seem like enough. It's not worth stressing over! Two years is a long time so it's normal to feel upset or like you need "closure" on the situation, but the best closure you can have is moving on, doing something good and healthy for yourself (like joining a new sport, giving yourself a spa relaxation day, or buying a cute new top), and spending lots of time with your friends. However, what you should do is confront him about the stuff he writes on his FB about you. In person, tell him seriously that you are not together anymore and he has no right posting about you online. Tell him it makes you uncomfortable and you'd like him to stop, right now. Be firm on this one! <3
