Fighting parents worry me

Check these out, too...

  • My dad started smoking...again
  • My mom read my diary without permission!
  • Bombshell: My bud told me her dad abuses her
  • Does my brother have ADD, or is he just annoying?
  • I'm following Mom's no-makeup rule, but sis is sneaking it!
My parents have been fighting a lot. I’m usually asleep, but I wake up when I hear them. I’m afraid they’re going to get a divorce.

Dear Concerned Daughter,
There’s not much a girl can do when her parents fight. It helps to know that while their problems affect you, they are not caused by you. Their fighting is not your fault. And some fighting is natural. You and your siblings or friends may be better than endless shouting. Try not to become the confidante of either parent. If one trashes the other, say, “I know you need to vent, but I don’t want to hear about that.” Both parents will appreciate extra smiles or hugs from you now. Hang in there. Can you arrange a sleepover or getaway?

MOD MOD MOD
My parents were yelling at my brother the other day because he isn't turning in his reports that my mom helped him with months ago. They didn't seem to notice me sitting at the table covering my ears. I hate all that yelling. I ant to talk to them but I think they'll just shrug it off. Could someone help me?
~HJ

Hey girlie. Go talk to them. They probably don't realize how much you dislike it, and they probably don't realize that they're yelling that much. Let them know how ya feel!

I'm so sorry to hear that! My parents divorced two years ago and I know exactly what you're going thorough. It's very hard but everything gets better in the end and at least they don't fight anymore!

MOD MOD MOD
I need some help, please! Today, my Mom drove me and my brother and my Sister, and I, to school. This 8th grader (I'm in 6th grade) who bullies my brother (who's also in 6th grade) and his friends cornered him and fake hit him but my brother pushed the bully away. And, the bullies friend who's is 6th grade was swearing at my brother and his friends. I HATE fighting, I cant STAND it, there were 2 teacher there, but they were to busy talking to a new girl who needed to find her class. I told my parents and they said it was a battle my brother could fight on his own, and, when I told my sister who's also in 6th grade (I'm a triplet) she said to tell someone. I would, but, I'm to chicken. What should I do? Please help!
~Betsy

Hey girlie. Talk to a teacher. Maybe the teachers who were there didn't notice, but if they knew they would have been able to do something about it. And do feel scared to tell someone. Teachers are always there to help.
Marly Z.
