I'll miss my college-bound sis


 
My sister is going off to college. She is excited, but I am sad.  I can text and email her, but I’ll still be lonely.  We do everything together, and now that is going to change.

 

Dear I’ll Miss my Sis,

Have a great sister spring/summer, and know that she’ll always be a phone call or IM away.  If you’re good at staying in touch, you may find that you appreciate each other in whole new ways.  The transition may be hard for your parents, too, so if you ever feel like saying, “Wanna play Scrabble?” or “Let’s go for Chinese,” they might be up for it.  Another bright side: You could plan a really fun weekend on campus.

recently my mom,little bro and i where at the mall to see my friend and a bunch of other kids sing.so any way... we came arcross a sales woman who was selling lotion. and she asked my mom if she wanted to try some lotion(sorry i cant spell)so my mom ended up buying buying some kind of lotion and nail kit. but sometime in between there my mom asked me if i wanted it and i said no but she bought one for me too. and she bought some kind of face cleaner too. sooo... really the thing is i think my mom bought something she didnt want that was around $100 or more all together. and i feel like it was my fault. is there anything i can do? ive thought about selling it online for the price she paid then give her the money... (sorry its so long)

My big sister is getting married next spring, and she chose me to be her maid of honor!Smile The problem is, I'm 15, so I'm not really sure what my job is, especially since I can't arrange everything or help as much as her other bridesmaids, since they can drive around and all that. Any advice? Thanks soooo much!Smile

Although you can't drive yet, that doesn't mean you can't offer support to your sister. Ask her if there's any way you can help her to prepare. Maybe she will let you scope out bridesmaid's dresses online or something like that. Even if there's nothing she needs help with, the idea that you care will mean a lot to her!

I totally understand how you feel! My older sibling went to college and I was depressed for a couple of months, but my parents let me get a dog. So, maybe try to surround yourself with people you love, and maybe even get a dog. Schedule a few weekends with your sis, just you and her. Maybe even drive up and give her suprise visits or give her a call when you are super lonely. That always helps. If you can, get a Skype to talk to her in person on a particular day of the week. Don't worry though, everything will be okay, I know you can push through.

Today, my mom asked me to get mine and my 2 sisters bathroom trash can because it's garbage day. Well, clumsy old me tripped and dropped everything out of the trash can, so I ran out to my dads workshop to get some rubber gloves to pick it all up, when I saw a pregnancy test. The test read positive, and I don't know who's it is! It could be my Mom, but she said she doesn't want anymore (she has 3) or it could be my 16 year old sister Belle, because she has a boyfriend and her period, or it could be my 13 year old sister Sabrina, but I doubt it since she doesn't even have a boyfriend. And it cant be me because I don't have my period or a boyfriend (I'm 11). And it's only me and my parents and my 2 older sisters in the house. Who's could it be? Should I tell my mom? Please help!

This is a tough one! I would talk to your mom first and let her know what you found. I would tell her in private and just say you want to make sure everything is okay with either her and your two sisters.

Mod mod mod First of all- My boyfriend that I am in complete love in [I may only be 12, but I really feel that way about him.] But... he lives an hour away, and I never get to see him except for at camp for a week. How do I keep this relationship up? And I know he isn't cheating on me, because our relationship status is up on Facebook, and no girl would dare ask him out now. Secondly- My sister is moving to collage when school starts back up again. But, she's going to be in my boyfriends city! My parents say we're going to go and visit a lot, but they're never going to let me see Ian, because my sister is family, and you can't leave family behind for friends, blah blah blah. How do I convince them to let me see him while I'm there? I really need help!

 

Hey chica!  The important thing is to just stay in contact with each other.  That could be via text, phone, or video chat like Skype.  You could also set regular "dates" to talk, if that works.  Maybe you could talk to them again about working out a time to see him, this summer or during the school year.  Try to stress that it wouldn't have to take away from family time - you want to see your sister too, afer all!  Keep asking, and hopefully you guys can work out a compromise. Smile

Hey chickadee! It's totally normal for boys to be curious as they're growing up. It's all part of going through puberty and growing up! I wouldn't tell your mom, and I wouldn't confront him about it either. I'd just let it go, and try to forget that you saw it. Give him a little privacy to figure things out.

i know how you feel. this is my sis' sophmore year in college and i barely ever see her. even when i text her she never texts back, and never answers phone calls. and foreget about my bro, he moved to cali four years ago. stinks being the youngest. just try to reach out to her i guess. theres only so much you can do.

MOD MOD MOD! Sooo, it really bugs me because my best friend and crush ALWAYS hang out. Their ex's and broke up over a year ago, but my crush still likes her. He used to like me.I've talked to my BFF about how it bothers me she ignores me for him but nothing changes! I always feel left out around them and it's almost like their dating again, but their not. How do I get rid of this peeve of them leaving me out? 'Cause I find it really rude that my friend does that to me but I've talked to her a million times about it and don't want to bug her anymore..

Okay, I dont want to come across really wierd but I guess I want to re invent myself to be a better person. I have been not happy with myself and have decided enough is enough. First, my friends.. they arent the greatest. I need new ones! (trust me..they do really bad things). How can I get some more better friends? Also, I want a boyfriend. I havent had one for a year! How can I get guys to like me? Third, I need to keep my room clean and organized. Any tips? Lastly, clothes. How can i get some cute clothes? Hey girlie! To get better friends, simply talk to new people around school. Whether it be in class or during your lunch break, try to involve yourself in every aspect of your school's atmosphere. With regard to getting guys to like you, you should just be your self -- guys like a girl who isn't afraid to be who she is Smile When it comes to keeping your room clean, straighten up every chance you get -- that will maintain it's tidiness. I sit across from one of my friends pretty much everyday at lunch. Our lunchroom is really loud, and I can barely understand her. She is extremely chatty, but it is loud in there, and she mumbles, barely moves her lips, and sometimes covers her mouth. If I say what more than once, she yells what she was saying at us. What do I do?

MOD MOD MOD please help! My two "besties" are acting super weird. They lie to my parents about phones, because my parents don't want them to text boys when they're over. They get together without me and barely talk to me during the week. I feel really left out. They've been hanging out on the weekends without me and then talking about how much fun they had. One of them also is hanging out with the wrong crowd (they drink, chew tobacco, and go all they way with their bfs). She also throws around curse words like it is the most normal thing in the world when she didn't use to. She knows I have a problem with it but keeps doing it anyways, and it makes me think she cares more about curse words than me. They also call people whores when they know I have a problem with it. I've been trying to drift, and luckily next year we'll be in hs. What do I do? This is making be hate going to school and 8th grade in general. Thanks!!!

 

 

Hey girly girl, it sounds like you and your friends may be growing a part. As unfortunate as it is, it's all a part of growing up. If your friend know you have a problem with it, and they continue to do that stuff, then it doesn't sound like they're too good of friends, honestly. And, unfortunately you can't change them. You're totally right in wanting to drift and find new friends. And, high school will help with that a lot! In the mean time, I'd keep talking to new people, and maybe join a new sports team or club... that way, you'll meet people who share common interests with you Smile

I just had a huge argument with my dad. He's trying to get me to meet his new wife (yeah, he married someone I have never met), but I'm not ready to meet her. She happens to be my step dad's ex, and my dad was very secretive about their relationship, and I just have a hard time trusting them, because I've been really hurt.. I told him a long time ago that after this visit (it's been 9 mos since I last saw him) I would be willing to meet her. He's still really mad at me. I don't want to hurt him, but I also am working on sticking up for myself better. Should I give in, or stick up for myself? Thanks! Sorry this was so long.




Hey girlie. Try to think of it this way. Do you want your Dad to be happy? If she makes him happy, then so be it. It might be hard to accept her but at least meet her for your Dad's sake. Then, just give yourself some time to realize that she is part of your Dad's life, and everything will work out just fine. Smile

i feel like whenever i tell my friend something exciting, she doesnt care at all. like i just said to her, "i got my new bedspread in!" (cuz its rlly cool lol) and she didnt even reply or say anything. she does this all the time. it kinda bugs me though, cuz whenever she tells me something, i try to act excited for her. she just doesnt do the same.

I know exactly how you feel. My sister is leaving for England in the fall so she can go to school there. We do everything together, too. But if I say I wanna do something like that, she refuses. I never get to do much outside of the obvious because everyone refuses. But if THEY wanna do something then that's different. We can't text my sister, though. An I told her I wouldn't talk to her at all anyway because she's leaving me. But I know how you feel.
