The ring. The dress. The flowers. The party. The guests.
What can we say? We’re obsessed. After years of will-they-or-won’t-they
debates, Kate Middleton—excuse us, Catherine—will join Prince William at the
altar on April 29. Join us as we celebrate a fairytale dream come true.
Living the sweet life
Lifetime, the station of based-on-real-life dramas that we
can’t seem to turn off, is gearin’ up for the big day with Royal Wedding of
a Lifetime, a six-part series about Kate
and Wills. On Monday, April 18, check out “A Day to Remember” for insider deets
on the wedding procession, ceremony and reception.
Thursday, April 21 brings “A Tale of Two Princesses,” which
will parallel the lives of William’s mom, Princess Diana, and the soon-to-be
Princess Catherine. It’s followed by two more episodes giving a closer look at
Kate’s dress and the reception meal. Friday, April 22 brings the series to a
close with a look at the duo’s love story and a peek into the future.
Go online official
Wedding websites are turning into a huge trend, and Kate and
William have followed the pack. Check out officialroyalwedding2011.org for behind-the-scenes videos, lots of details on the procession and reception,
and the couple’s Twitter and Flickr feed. One more question: Are they Facebook
official?
Be a knit wit
Shortly after the engagement was announced, one of the
cutest books of the year arrived at GL headquarters. We can’t get enough of
Fiona Gable’s Knit Your Own Royal Wedding.
Even if your knitting aptitude extends only to scarves, you’ll love flipping
through this oh-so-adorable book filled with how-tos and fun pics. Our fave
character? That would be Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, complete with
accompanying corgi.
Find a seat in the Google grandstand
The amazing folks at Google Maps have expanded their 3D
views to include the entire procession route that will be followed by the
newlyweds. The route begins at Westminster Abbey, passes the Houses of
Parliament and Big Ben, the home of the Prime Minister at Number 10 Downing
Street and the tree-lined Royal Mall before concluding at Buckingham Palace.
