Crushing on a kid I never see


 
There’s this sweet, funny guy I like. Problem is, I don’t have any classes with him. How can I get to know him better if I hardly ever see him?

 

Think of this guy as if he was already your friend. Even if you didn’t have classes with your fave girlie, you would still make time to hang out with her, right? This sitch is no different, except you’re not quite buddy-buddy just yet.

 

To get to that stage—and maybe move in to BF/GF territory—you’ve got to bite the bullet and make the first move. Be casual about it and ask if he’d like to grab a slice of pizza after your school’s next half-day. Or mention the awesome new action flick you can’t wait to see—and oh, hey, would he like to come? Maybe Saturday afternoon?

 

The key is to strike up friendly conversations so you two can find some common interests, and then start exploring those interests together. Before you know it, you two will be thisclose.

I have a comment already but just add on I think my friends can tell I like him. Me and the guyvare already friends and I'm not so much embarrassed of him(actually not at all) but of what my parents will do. Again, I have never had a boyfriend before and I don't know if I should start dating now because I'm nervous of what my parents will do.




hey girlie,

i would suggest talking to your parents--ask them if they approve of you dating at this point...you can just talk about the guy and his great qualities and how you want to spend more time with him...you don't have to say it as if you want him to be your boyfriend already, bc I think you guys do need to spend time getting to know each other and being better friends or just going on casual dates (instead of jumping into a relationship).  Don't worry--your parents have been in your shoes before, so they should understand a bit...they simply want what is best for you (they don't want to see you get hurt or too distracted), so listen to what they have to say and always respect and be honest with them Smile

There is this boy. My friends all think we have a thing and he likes me. I always denie I like him but I actually do. I deny it because I have never had a boyfriend. My parents always mess with me about boys not that I have never had a boyfriend but things like did you see any cute boys does anyone like you? And I know they would make it so awkward of I dated this guy. I really want to and know if I admit I like him to my friends that he will ask me out because he has already told my good friend that he would if I told her that I would say yes.

don't be embarrassed to admit you like him--if he's a great guy and a good friend, you guys can have a good time together!  I would suggest not diving into any sort of relationship--work on developing your friendship first, and see where things go....there's no rush, so get to know him and make sure he's worth it Smile

omg, this was sooo me, only i haven't seen this kid since 3rd grade lol. i started dating his friend and we went 2 different school n my bf (now ex unfortunantly) gave him my #... well wen my bf dumped me i found comfort in his friend n we confessed that we both really liked each other! its funy. i like his personality, but not him n it makes me feel kinda bad but....... idk its mean. just thought id share

I have such a big problem! My family joined a new church and there were 2 guys in my Sunday School class who were a grade above me and they were best friends. Well I started liking one of them and I recently found out he liked me. I found out from his best friend. His best friend is going to ask him out for me this Monday for me (because I'm such a chicken lol.)Well he told my sister that he started liking me and of course my sister told me... I have no idea what to do! :/

that's sweet--it's ok to have a little crush! and i'm glad he seems to have a little crush on you too.  don't be shy or worried--what's important is to get to know him better and develop a friendship first.  so if you guys do get a chance to hang out, just think of it as a great opportunity to get to know him better...to see what his hobbies are, what his goals in life are, his values, etc.  Just have fun and start from there! Smile

ok so i like this guy but problem his, he's a grade older and i don't know how to get to know him!! and second problem is he's in 9th grade and i'm in 8th grade so we're not in the same building!! what do i do?

Hey girl,

Do the two of you have any mutual friends that could introduce you to him? How did you meet him? Are you in the same activities at all? It will be easier next year to talk to him when you are in the same building.  I would try and see if you have any friends who might know him and you can ask what he is interested in. Next time you see him, don't be afraid to introduce yourself and strike up a conversation.
