Figuring out which color shadow to swipe on and exactly how to
make your mascara look amazing can be tricky. Luckily, we’ve got tried ‘n’ true
tips to help you land pretty (and natural looking!) eye makeup. Keep reading to
spy ways to make your look all eyes.
Line your Eyes
When you’re heading to school, just line your top lid (doing both
is simply too dramatic). While eyeliners come in every shade imaginable, we
like using flat-out black. It gives the ultimate pop and looks fab on everyone.
Too much? Try dark brown.
*Our trick: When lining
the top lid, squint one eye so it’s almost closed and apply the liner exactly
on the lash line (where your lashes meet your eye).
Determine your palette
Color scheme can make or break your look, so be sure to pick a
fitting one for the occasion. For everyday makeup, choose more neutral hues,
like taupe or beige. If you’re itching for a bolder look at nighttime, use a
deep purple or a find a smoky eye kit.
*Our
trick: Apply
the darkest tone you’re using nearest the eye. As you move up toward the
crease, use a softer shade that’s in the same scheme.
Volumize
and Intensify
At its
best, mascara leaves you with beautiful, thick and lengthy lashes. But be
cautious that you don’t over-apply it, or it will start to look spidery.
