Super sleuth Easter scavenger hunt

Unless your folks go nuts when it comes to hiding Easter eggs, chances are finding those colorful orbs in the grass doesn’t offer up much of a challenge. Turn the traditional activity up a notch with a digi-cam scavenger hunt. We’re gonna break it down step-by-step for you ‘n’ your sweeties…

1. Suggest the change in plans to your parents. If your fam or neighborhood is hosting a hunt for younger kids, then their doings don’t have to change and  there will be more eggs for the tots.

2. Call up your crew. Depending on what you normally do for Easter, your bunch might include neighborhood buds, your besties, older cousins and sibs or a combination.

3. Elect a master of ceremonies. Someone needs to sit out so they can plan the scavenger list, decide on the hunting area (like your backyard vs. your neighborhood) hide necessary items and decide the winner. It could be you, a friend or a parent.

4. Break into teams. The number of people on a team depends upon the number of cameras available for your use. Digital cameras and cell phone cams are totally fine for this activity, so survey the goods and then break down into groups or go it alone.

5. On your marks…Before you get huntin’, make sure everyone knows the rules and has each other’s phone numbers in case you get lost.

6. Get set…go! You can have everyone go at once, or allow the younger members of your group a 10-second head start. The first one back to the master of ceremonies with photos of all the items on the list wins! Send a text out to all of the other scavengers to tell ‘em that the game is over.
