5 steps to the perfect pedi

Sandal season is officially here! Get those tootsies in tip-top shape with our super-cinchy DIY pedicure tricks. No more waitin’ around at a pricy salon—you can get pretty piggies at home.

 

1. Soak your feet.

Remove any lingering nail polish. Then, Break out a bucket or fill the tub with warm water. Squirt in some lavender-scented soap or a foot soak. Splash around for 10-15 minutes to soften your skin.

2. Buff it up.

We’re suckers for scrubs but, let’s be honest, they can get expensive. Follow our recipe and whip up a sweet foot treat in your kitchen. Slather it on and totally blast away dead ‘n’ dry skin (blech). Then, rinse your feet and pat them dry with a towel.

 

Ingredients:

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons light oil, such as almond, canola, or sunflower

2 tablespoons milk

 

Directions

Mix together a:ll the ingredients into a smooth cream.

 

3. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.

Right now, we’re beyond hooked on shea butter creams. Massage some into your peds (it’s OK if they’re still a little damp—you’ll lock in more moisture that way).

4. Prep your nails.

This step is sooo key! Use some nail polish remover to clean your nail beds. It’ll help your polish stick like glue. Then, swipe on base coat. Never, ever skip it (that’s like asking for chips).

5. Polish up.

Now it’s time to slap on two thin coats of polish. We’re all about blues and greens right now, but classic coral is perf for this time of year, too.

Hi um well i really like this guy and we have dated for almost three yrs but then he broke up with me and i can't get over him he is my everything and i cry and cry everyday and night what can i do to stop thinking of him and get him out of my mind together or maybe you could help me get him back but the thing is i don't know if he is moving to Kentucky because he said for the three yrs we have been dating that i was the only thing holding him back i need help big time!

Hey girl! Well you can always do the classic flower design or polka dots.  Or just a swirl or something out of the silver, that always looks cute, especially when it's just on your ring finger. And during the summer you can do more fun designs, like palm trees or suns! If you have a steady hand, a silver palm tree would look so cute with a pink background, really any color background! Hey babe! Tan skin tones are so versatile. Your complexion is usually associated with warm colors.  Your nail polish can be any color that contrasts your skin color.  Steer clear of golds and anything else that would blend in.  You can do anything from light blue, pink, or purple.  Even a nice chocolate color would be a nice autumn color! sissis1430- i have the same issue at school, we have uniforms too. but i can wear heels and open toes as long as they have a strap on the back. if ur really dying to wear polish then just add a clear coat. as for the "uniform holidays" i think that writing ur principal would be a good, responsible thing to do. get a group of girls to work on it with u. i can garuntee u get a positive response. hey, i got a middle school dance out of a petition to the pincipal. hope this helps!! sissis1430- i think you should write a very sincere, formal, but totally not rude letter to the superintendent of your school explaining why you think you should be able to have your nails done, and even dress the way you want to. What you wear has no effect on how you learn, and maybe that is what they think. if you get plenty of girls to write him/her then maybe they might see it your way! good luck chicka (:

you don't have to worry about the other girls--just focus on you and him.  If you guys are into each other, then worrying about other girls won't help. It's also not your fault that he may have a crush on you and not them...so don't feel bad.  Just don't be cocky about it and don't be exclusive if you guys start dating--continue to be a good friend to the other girls!

I have this really BRIGHT colores coral pink nail polish that I really like. The only thing is that I go to private school. We wear uniforms (yuck) and usually once a month we have uniform holidays. We can't wear open toed or high heeled shoes (I have a really pretty pair of pink wedges) and we can rarley can wear nail polish (still talking about uniform holidays). THis really stinks because pretty much all my friends L-O-V-E nail pollish. What do you think I should do? I don't want to write a letter to my school because thata would be REALLY RUDE. Please post a comment as to what I should do. I'm virtually begging you. Smile

MOD: So me and this boy both like each other. It's obvious he likes me. I found out last year, but he didn't want me to find out.. Cuz my friend told. Anyways he stares at me a lot and acts nervous near me and he just rly likes me. Sometimes he walks up to me and opens his mouth, but no words come out. In February I had the guts to talk to him. I asked wat the homework was lol. But then after that, he still would be nervous to talk to me. We have one special together. It's chorus class. And also we've only talked like 6 or five times. My friends have went up to him many times. He would get embarrassed and seem annoyed.. But then smile at me and blush! On april 15th, my friend Pam went up to him and said... "will u go out with." then he cut her off, and said no. Then Pam said.. "Rose Son." and then his mouth open wide and nervously ran away. He mouthed like "o." soo idk what to Do. I wanna talk to him again, but what should I say without making it awkward?!!! He knew my brother I'm rose

I just don't want him to get hurt. What should I do? Should I tell him to wait?

Hi!Okay well im homeschooled and There was this weekly thing i went to with public school kids.well thats ended and theres feast thing they do to raise money for the coming year.well at the weekly thing i somehow got this HUGE crush on this kid that goes!well theres only one more time when i get to see him before summer.and thats next wednesday(the feast thing).Well i know im not going to be seeing him over summer but i added him on facebook and he STILL hasnt accepeted nor denied!And i know he was on because it gave me a notice that he changed his pic.All i can think about is him ALL the time!!Is there anything i can do to make this crush more subtle?and does he not like me because he didnt accept it?but why would he just leave it?

Since you only met this boy once, he might not have remembered who you were. I meet people all the time and sometimes I forget how I know them and I have accidentally done that on facebook before! So there is this super cute guy in the grade ahead of me! I always catch him staring at me when we are outside of school, like one time me and my besties were bowling and he was there with his friends, and he kept staring at me, and then me nd my bff were at the park and he was there playing basketball with his buds and he kept staring at me! I thought he liked me, but today, he had to come into my study hall, and he had to sit right in front of me! He didn't take any notice of me whatsoever! Even when the class started talkin he wouldn't even look at me! I'm not sure what to think! What should I do?

Hi - I have just recently moved to a new school (right after Easter break). Today was the first time I ever experienced bullying. Everyone is so nice there, except one girl in my class. Everyone says she doesn't like me because I am friends with her "ex-BFF". Well, she told one of her friends in another class that she hated me, and now that girl does, too. She came up to me today and said, "Emily, you'd better stop eating those fries or you'll get even more pimples!" I was welling up with tears right there at the lunch table. And after school she was telling everyone I was fake. I swear, Mod, I have never said a harsh word about anyone here at this school, not even behind their backs! What can I do to handle the situation? I want the bullying to end... Especially before the girl gets everyone else in the grade to hate me, too.

Hey girl,

 I am so sorry that girl said those things to you! I am sure that you haven't done anything mean to her. I would try to avoid this girl at all costs and focus on trying to expand your circle of friends, ask the friends you have made to keep introducing you to people and maybe invite them to do something over the weekend. Be nice and friendly. Also, be sure to stand up for yourself to this girl. Obviously, her comment at lunch caught you by surprise, but tell her that you don't appreciate the way she treats you and you have not done anything wrong. If the bullying persists or worsens after you have talked to her, try talking to a teacher about it. You only have a couple more weeks of school and hopefully you can avoid this girl. See if there are any summer sports leagues or activities you can get involved in too once school is over to make more friends.

 Every guy has a different way of letting girls know they are interested. Some guys like to talk to you, some like to kid around with you...it all depends on the guy's personality.
