Blossom with a flower bangle corsage

Wearing a corsage from prom? Classic. Dealing with wilt on a daily basis? Talk about a bummer! These blooming bangles will stay fresh forever. Mix ‘n’ match them to make an armful, or pick one or two for a sweet spring accent.

What you’ll need:

Assorted fabric

Skinny bangle bracelet

Hot glue gun and glue

Newspaper

What you’ll do:

Cut a ½ inch- to ¾ inch-wide strip of fabric about 18 inches in length. Place a dot of hot glue on a bangle and attached the end of the fabric. Wrap the fabric around the bangle, gluing every inch or so. Be sure to overlap the layers of fabric for even coverage. When you’ve covered the entire bangle, cut off any remaining inches of fabric and neatly glue down the end.

For a plain bangle, trim the ragged edges with scissors and slip the bangle onto your wrist. You’re finished! Read on to make a flower:

To make a flower, cut another piece of fabric (in the same color and pattern or different, whatever you prefer) about 1 ¼-inches wide and 18 inches long. Fold it in half, right side facing out, and put a few dots of glue along the bottom to hold the fold in place. Tie a knot at one end, then begin twisting and wrapping the fabric around the knot to create the center of your flower.

When you like the size of the center (I shoot for something slightly smaller than a dime), untwist the fabric and begin pleating in a spiral, hot gluing each pleat together so it won’t unravel. Continue pleating until the flower reaches your desired size, then neatly cut off the remaining fabric. Glue the center of the flower to your bangle and press firmly until the glue is completely dry.
