13 things that freak us out

We are women, hear us roar! Except, well, when we’re running for cover or hiding under the blankets. In honor of 2011’s only Friday the 13th, here are 13 things we’d really rather not think about…

Clingy guys. Boy do we have stories for this one. Hint: If you’re emailing and texting constantly and we’re not responding? Yeah, not interested.

Umbrellas. Okay, make that opening umbrellas inside. Senior editor Katie A. refuses to do it. “Such bad luck!” she says.

Hearing a bump in the night. No, it never gets less creepy.

Jinxing ourselves. “I knock on wood (or whatever hard surface I can find) like 12 times a day.” – Jessica A., fashion and beauty assistant

Lady Gaga. You know, when she wears meat. Even fabulous people have their freaky moments, right?

When you go to Forever 21, try on a white shirt and discover some other girl’s foundation smeared all over the collar. Well, at least you’ll know which shirt you aren’t buying.

Broccoli. “Ew. Gross. I won’t even touch it. I don’t want to think about it. Blegh.” – Brittany T., online editorial assistant.

Spiders. Eight legs? Insert shivers and arachnid-crushing sneakers here.

Cell phones. They might be killing all of the bees, they’re tracking our every move and, oh yeah, they’re way addictive. Now where did I put that thing…

The smell of a guys’ locker room. One word, boys: Deodorant.

Sleeves. Wanna know how this conversation went? “Oh! I don’t like sleeves!” – Katie A. “But you’re wearing them.” – Brittany T. “I know. They’re uncomfortable.” – Katie A.

Mom’s eerily accurate 6th sense. How does she always know?

Snakes. “It’s really bad. I was copying a picture of one out of a book in an high school art class once, and I had to stop because I was having nightmares.” – Brittany T.

Come on and share, girls! Tell us what freaks YOU out.
