How do I get the cutie upperclassmen's attention?

I really like this is one guy in my school, but he is a grade older than me and doesn't know I exist. I want to meet him, but I'm way too shy to bump into him or talk to him. What should I do?

Everyone has their own flirting style, whether you're super out-going and boy-crazy or shy and less confrontational, so the key is finding out how you feel comfortable approaching your crush.

Trick #1: Give him the "look". If you're too shy to chat up your boy in class or slip him your number on a napkin during lunch, try catching his eye and holding his gaze. When he sees you looking at him, a red flag will go up and he'll be sure to notice you in the future!

Trick #2: Head to that school-wide spring fling! Even if you had been planning to take a girls-night-in and have a slumber party with your buds, switch up you plans, throw on a glam dress and go dance! You're much more likely mingle with other grades after hours rather than during a stressful school day.

Trick #3: Let him see you shine! Even if you're too scared to approach him, stand out by trying out for a role in your school play or by organizing that charity fundraiser. Putting yourself in the spotlight is sure to get you noticed!

Hey girlie -- nothing to lose with that plan Smile As far as talking to him face-to-face, whenever you do see him, try using one of these tips: http://www.girlslife.com/post/2011/01/26/100-cute-things-to-say-and-do-around-guys.aspx Smile

Why is it so easy to fall for older good looking guys? I am not talking much older but I do have friends who are dating guys they shouldnt be. But it just seems I always want to flirt and be with them when they are older even when I have a bf. Is something wrong with me for feeling this way?

Hey girlie! Nope, for some reason older guys always seem more cool and alluring. Maybe it's because we see them as smarter and more mature or maybe it's because we relate them to hot older guy celebs. Who knows? But when it comes down to it, just remember that you'll probably have more fun with guys your own age anyway.

MOD! I want to end things with a toxic friend. She is a clingy, possessive, needy, rude person and for 6 years I was the one who was always there for her. It was always about her, and she never bothered to be a friend to me. She's starting to change, good for her. But I'm done with the friendship. I want to move on. I distanced myself from her for a while, and I'm so happy. I've gotten involved in theatre, lost weight, and my relationships with other people are WAY better. I even have a BFF! But my toxic friend wants to reconnect. I don't want to, but I'm afraid to tell her that because she has depression. I'm afraid of what might happen if I break up with her. I also feel like a bad person for wanting to end things with someone who has depression. What should I do? I'm a Junior in HS and she's about to go to college.

Hey girlie!

I am so happy to hear that you are taking the steps to make yourself happy. It sounds like you are involved in a lot of great activities and have a lot going for you. If this friend of yours wants to reconnect, you are not obligated to hang out with her, and I don't see any reason of directly telling her that you don't want to be friends anymore. Go out to coffee with her  or get dinner with her as a graduation celebration or before she leaves for college, but as the summer starts keep yourself busy with family. friends and vacations and you will find yourself too busy to hang out with her. Once she goes to college it will be harder to stay friends when you live far away from each other as well. Just let your friendship naturally fade away. Don't feel bad for wanting to end things with this friend. Just remember that you need to do things that keep you happy and learn from her shortcomings how to be a better friend for your new ones.

I've liked this kid since October, but I've never been brave enought to talk to him. Now with one week of school left, my friend is going to tell his friend who has a locker near mine, "Rinehart", that I think "the kid he hangs out with" is cute. Do you think it's a good idea if his friend knows?

Hey girlie. That decision is up to you. Do you want other people knowing who you like? Will it bother you? Answer these questions and then go from there!
