June may be Iced Tea Month, but we’re
celebrating our favorite sips all summer long! We’ve got three
scrumptious iced-tea recipes. Check ‘em out below, and feel free to
experiment and add your favorite twists in the comments below.
So, how does this work?
Making iced tea is easy-peasy. All you
have to do is boil your water, steep and remove the tea bags, sweeten
if you like and then cool either by refrigerating or adding ice.
Twisted Arnold Palmer
There are so many flavored teas and
lemonades on the market now that it makes absolutely no sense
not to mix it up every once in awhile…and that’s exactly what
we’re up to! Head to the grocery store and pick up a bottle of
raspberry-flavored lemonade as well as a box of raspberry-flavored
tea. Brew the tea, cool it and then pour equal parts tea and lemonade
into a pitcher, or in unequal parts to taste.
Southern Sweet Tea
Sweet Tea is a down-South favorite, and
for good reason! It’s easy to make and makes quenching your thirst
and absolute treat during the hot summer months. To do it up right,
make a sugar syrup by adding one cup of sugar to three cups of water.
Once the sugar is dissolved and the water is boiling, remove your pot
from the stove and steep your tea. Remove the tea bags, pour the tea
into a pitcher and stir in three more cups of water. Yum!
Frui-tea Sangria Cooler
Why let grown-ups have all the fun?
Brew up your favorite tea and chill in the refrigerator. While it’s
getting’ good and cold, slice up to delish fruits. Since your local
grocery store is probably loaded with inexpensive, freshly picked
berries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries get my vote, but
you could also use citrus varieties or your own mix-and-match
selection. Add the berries into the tea and serve over us. Don’t
forget to slip a halved strawberry over the rim of the glass for a
classy touch.
What’s your favorite summer drink,
sweeties?
