Mark Zuckerberg, creator of Facebook,
clarified a recent statement that apparently was misinterpreted.
Media reports claimed that the young entrepreneur was not happy with
the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (which makes it hard
for kids under the age of 13 to set up an account). Zuckerberg is now
declaring that he doesn’t think kids under 13 should be allowed on
Facebook, but that it’s a topic that should be discussed in the
future, “especially for educational purposes.”
While some tweens get around the
no-users-under-13-rule by simply lying about their birth year,
everyone should be cautious about the info they post on this site.
It’s a lot more public than you think!
