Dealing with looking different

Check these out, too...

  • Could I have Huge Boob Syndrome?
  • Turning 16--but I don't want to grow up
  • I'm only 13--why did my breasts stop growing?
  • Do guys only care about chest size?
  • My nipples won't make up their minds
I feel so out of place! I'm the only girl in the sixth grade who is in shape and has decently size boobs. All of my friends are flat-chested or overweight and have huge boobs. My body is making me stick out. Is that a problem?

Everybody develops differently, so you shouldn’t be worried that your friends aren’t exactly the same size as you. Focus less on boob size and more on personality. Size isn’t everything, and there’s way more to us than just our (fabulous) looks! Our bodies are constantly changing, so stressing about them now isn’t going to do anything except maybe give you a headache. Instead, learn to love the body you have and also give your friends some reassurance that they should love their bods, too.

Going through the changes brought on by puberty is hard for everyone, so don’t think for a second that you’re the only one who feels awkward. Your buds are probably finding their own bods difficult to accept right off the bat, too. To set everyone at ease, focus on the important things, like the totally crazy adventures you’re all going to have this summer, instead of on comparing body parts.

she can't really say she's the only one in shape and who has decently sized boobs. everyone in different and bodies come in all different varieties. after all, no two bodies are exactly alike! even if she thinks she's in shape, some of the other girls might think the same thing, so she can't say she's the only one. it's kinda rude in the end. this is just my opinion Smile

I have these little red bumps on the top of my arms, what are they and how can i get rid of them?? thanks!

Hey babe! It could be anything so you should also ask a parent, dermatologist, or doctor to be sure. It could be a heat rash, pimples, allergic reaction... anything. Try putting Benadryl cream on it and see if that helps! xoxo

I'm in sixth grade and i tower over everyone including all the boys. i have boobs and none of the other girls do. boys always make fun of me. last year a boy said i was too booby to be tinker bell. i hate going to the public pool. i don't have a pass to the pool but my best friend always asks me to go but i don't wanna or i have my period. and she doesn't understand. and I'm not gonna tell the whole world either. help me please!

Hey girl,

I know it may be tough now, but everyone develops at a different rate, and soon people will have caught up with you, and you'll feel a lot less out of place. But you definitely shouldn't worry about what other people think. It sounds like your friend def doesn't care about your height or boobs because she really wants you to go to the pool with her, so you should totally go! If it makes you feel more comfortable, you could wear tankinis or one-pieces that have a lot of coverage and don't show your boobs as much as a bikini would. x0x0

Hey girl, you need to talk to your doc about how to do this properly. Talk to him at your next check-up and see what he thinks. Realize too your bod is going to be growing as puberty starts up. Just really focus on eating healthy and exercising for now. The rest will come with time. You are going to change quite a bit!
