Battle Scars - An original poem


 
Hey girlies! Here’s a heart-breaking original poem written by a GL reader just like you. Tell us what you think in the comments please.

 

“Battle Scars”

I don’t cry.
That’s what I say,
when I’m offered a shoulder,
then I walk away.

Don’t tell me you understand,
because that’s where you're wrong
I’m the only one who knows the thread I'm dangling on.

I see you all laugh,
when I roll up my sleeves,
fight the lump in my throat and pray you hadn’t seen.

But they're my battle scars,
etched in stone to weigh me down forever,
carve marks into my heart
and wish I hadn’t ever...

Wow, this is amazing! I could never write a poem as good as this! I think this can really relate to what a lot of girls our age are feeling when they are trying to fit in and stuff. FANTASTIC!!! Smile

This is fantastic. I really like this poem and I'm very about my poems (I write myself). I sadly understand this way more then I should but bravo! I am shocked at how good this writer is.
