Dear Scared of Junior High,
A lot of girls feel nervous about a new school year, whether they are going into junior high, high school or fifth grade. Ask your sixth-grade friends if they are feeling jittery (I’m sure some are). And ask any older friends how they made the jump to junior high.
Also, try to visualize success. In other words, instead of picturing mean kids and tough homework assignments, think about how much fun it will be to see your friends all day and how much you like English, art, Spanish or your other favorite courses. Think about any after-school activities that appeal to you. Don’t go overboard—you don’t want to be busy every day. It’s important to have free time for relaxation and homework. But do sign up for a sport or chorus or chess or something because it’s a great way to build new skills and friendships.
As for schoolwork, get the new year off to a flying start by practicing good study habits. This just may be your best year yet!

POSTED IN school, bust school stress, advice from Carol Weston
Believe me chicas, junior high is a breeze you will absolutely adore the more freedom, cute guys, and easy classes! For me 6th grade was great I would go back anytime!!!! Instead I'm going into high school but that's okay! the only thing is locker space for my school was a tight squeeze but you will learn methods on that situation later! If you have a small cube locker, whatever you do, do NOT push your binder or book into your locker when it's full! What I mean is don't put it in front of all your books standing straight up. take it from a true camper they have to get a janitor to pry it out! lol Good Luck junior high freshies! lol

The a new school year is just around the corner, and I've moved again it's my 8th school and I'm entering 7th grade. I have the experience of making new friends more than once, but every school I go to people keep on getting meaner can you give me some tips on new making friends? In the house next door to mine there's a girl my age is there anyway we can be BFF's in a snap?

I felt nervous, like I was going to get lost, but it turned out to be super easy, and I never got as much homework as I thought. Most of 6th grade is a review of 5th, but you do learn some new things. Don't worry, maybe you'll get into sports like cross-country or cheer. I had a blast. My two favorite things were the dances and band!

I felt the same way at the beginning of the summer before sixth grade- then the day before I started, I totally forgot about it! Then the morning of, I was just super excited. The only real thing to get used to is class schedules (they're super easy after a few days), and having more teachers. And of course, the locker, but we all had cubbies in first grade, didn't we? These are just way more private. You'll be fine. :-D Good luck!
