Happy Fourth of July!

It’s time to hold that star-spangled banner high as you belt out your fave hurray-for-the-USA anthems. We’ll be singing along with Bruce Springsteen and Miley Cyrus (and, OK, we might throw a round of “Yankee Doodle” in there, too) as we celebrate America’s independence.

Fast facts
The Fourth of July commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, which you can check out in person at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Though the Second Continental Congress had approved a resolution of independence, which officially separated the original 13 colonies from Great Britain, on July 2, 1776, it took the group two more days to agree on the final copy of the Declaration of Independence, penned chiefly by future prez Thomas Jefferson.
Though John Adams pegged the 2nd as the day Americans would celebrate their independence, we’ve been hailing July 4th ever since.

What do we love about it?
Everything! From the patriotism to the music to the ah-mazing food, we’re totally sold on celebrating Independence Day. What’s not to love about a holiday that can unite a nation, even if it’s just for a day? Bring on the cookouts, the beach gatherings and the fireworks, ‘cause we’re gonna be waving Old Glory all day long!

Happy Fourth of July, sweeties!
