You guys freaked (in a good way!) over Lauren Conrad’s rainbow mane. Now, she’s spilling a couple more of her fash and beauty secrets. Keep reading to spy what makes this California cutie so darn stylish.

GL: What’s one trick for keeping your hair looking so darn amazing?
LC: I go in and get my hair glossed every 6 weeks with some magic glossy formula my hairstylist makes. We've been doing that for years. It's like a top coat for your nails, only for your hair. That's definitely what's kept it so shiny.

GL: Do you have any advice for pulling together outfits that are both laidback and cute?
LC: The key is finding a look that can easily go from day to night. Something that you can wear at work or in school with a nice blazer and then take that off for a more sophisticated evening look. When I design for LC Lauren Conrad for Kohls and for paper crown I always keep that in mind.

GL: We know it’s summer but, um, we’re already thinking about fall! What’s beauty trend every girl should rock for back-to-school.
LC: Every girl should rock these two biggest fall beauty trends: the smoky eye in jewel tones (amethyst, sapphire, topaz, silver or gold) or a bright lip (red, coral, or vamp), but not at the same time, please! There are so many trends and that's exactly why we created thebeautydepartment.com. It’s always best to just try them out and see what suits your personal style the most.

I have really small but pretty blue eyes with thin, short lashes. I am really good at applying makeup, and I'm trying to convince my mom to let me wear eyeliner. I know how to use it without looking like a raccoon but she won't listen! My gma gave me some light purple eyeliner, but my mom confiscated it! She says I can only wear mascara, a little eyeshadow, lip gloss, and concealer. But I really want to make my eyes pop! What should I do? 




try using a little dark eyeshadow to line your eyes. also you can frame your eyes with light powdered eyeshadow that glimmers for some eye-popping effect Smile

1) i have bright blue eyes and i normally just wear mascara. what color eyeliner should i wear to really bring them out?
2) i have shoulder lenght brown hair that has natural curl in it. i am going bowling with all my relatives for a party this weekend and i was wondering how i should style my hair so its still down but looks cute??

Hey girly,

1) You could try a dark brown eyeliner.  2) You could braid one piece of it and clip the braid back with a bobby pin, or wear your hair half up-half down. x0x0

1. Here are my fave articles about stuff to keep you (and your besties) busy:




2. You could always ask to borrow it from a friend or relative. You could ask mom or dad if you could do some big chores around the house (clean the bathroom, organize the basement) for a bit more allowance or a little pocket money. Or you could try selling some clothes you no longer wear to a local second-hand/thrift store! 

3. Make sure you ask questions that aren't YES/NO answers. By requiring an actual written-out answer instead of just one word, you increase the chances of finding things to talk about each time someone responds Smile Don't try to force it to continue obviously (if you or the other person doesn't wanna talk anymore, it's fine to stop for now), but this is a great way to keep transitioning to new things!

I have blue green -eyes that change color. Some days they're green, others blue. I never know what color eyeshadow to wear. Help!




Hey girlie,

I've said these color tips to a lot of girls tonight, but it's best to stick with the neutral, earth tones since your eyes change color! Browns and golds are gorgeous with both blue and green eyes. Try a gold eyeshadow (not too heavy - just a faint shimmer) paired with a chocolate brown eyeliner. Finish with a coat of mascara! That way, you're wearing makeup but it looks super natural - then you can enhance your eyes in other ways, like with the color shirt you decide to put on!
