Is it weird for girls to ask out guys?


 
I was all ready to ask out the guy I’ve been crushing on for years, but my friend told me that he’d decline because saying yes to a girl makes him look weak. Is this true?
 
Dave: I’d say the answer to that question is a definite no. If a girl asks me out, I’m always flattered and if I’m even the least bit interested I accept. I’m actually attracted to girls who take some initiative and make the first move.
 
Bill: I’m sure there are guys out there who turn girls down because they’re afraid of how it makes them look. But likely, these are the dudes you don’t want to be dating, anyway. If you’ve known your crush for years, you’ve probably figured out which category he falls into. And if he seems like the type to take you up on your offer, why not ask him out?

hey so i asked out my crush today and i have never felt like this about anyone before and he asked if it was a dare or real thing but i responded does it matter because i was nervous and he said no because he just doesnt like anyone right now but i dont think thats all the information .i just cant help thinking that there are other reasons and if i had said it was a real thing that he might have actually said yes because he looked so scared when i looked into his eyes . did i do something wrong bcause i dont want him to feel strange around me . i just want to know what to do . i need answers . please help me i would eally appreciate it .

Hey girl,

He might have just been surprised, not scared...if he said he's not into anyone right now, you have to take his word for it and stay just friends, at least for now! If he acts awkward, give him some time alone before you hang out again, or if it was just a dare you could tell him that. It will go back to normal eventually, and if it doesn't maybe you didn't click too well anyway!

Hey chica! This guy is probably feeling super out of place, and wanting new friends... so I'd buck up and talk to him! Ask him when he moved here... ask where he's from, ask about his friends and former school back home! He's most likely homesick and would love to talk to someone about it! Also, invite him to hang with you and your friends next weekend... maybe a group night at the movies!
